  • Awesome ..

  • i was rly waiting for some 3d game after u said 358 lines... i would make a game like that with maybe under 100 lines of code z.z

  • hey what code did you use to make it fire like that

  • could you lose time in something that is you better?

  • how do i open a file without using VB? and how do i save it into filefront or somwhere in that format that you can open it with?

  • how long did it take? and is this 100% vb?

  • how many timers you used?

you are crazy because if you use 2 or more timers for this game !!!

    1 is sufficient...

  • is VB6 free?

  • mmm I don't think so

  • oh no =(

  • yes it is free

  • do you mean with or without cracking??

    (Reply to guitar91guitar)

  • well im not sure, i just looked it up on here.. i dont think visual basic 6 is even available for anyone at all.. it pretty much just gives you the source files lol

  • @bignhairy2

    Yes it is.

Microsoft's Visual Studio packages all have an Express version thats free.. it works pretty good if you ask me. I use Visual C#- not VB.. but its free just the same.

  • yes!

  • YAY! ...okay I got it before you even said that..

  • Nice video and Nice game

    ì

  • What song is this? It sounds so familiar.

  • Its called cannon rock ^^

  • where di u learn how to make this? and how long were u using vb 6 bfore u made this

  • Actually not that long. Once you get the basic concept down, it wasn't too difficult. It was just messing around with stuff and eventually I figured it out. First I started with moving around a block, then I made it so you can press space and make a lazer appear, then the lazer moves forward. The way I did it was horrible now that I look at it, the code was really messy.

  • I give u the PROPS..becasue i no it took alot of hard work to make thisg ame..GOOD JOB man..

  • omg this is awesome !

can i ask how many lines of code you used for this ? and is collision harder to code that it is to code bullets ?

  • 385 lines.

Neither of those is too difficult once you know how to do it. For collision detection, you just have to check all sides of the object to make sure the other object you are checking doesn't go through it.

There was actually only 1 bullet that I used, when you pressed space, it just reset. Now, if I did it over, I would just have an array that holds the bullets.

  • Nice! But i really do prefer mouse move events. What if the "Bad guy" is behind you?

  • what is that song

  • Canon rock played by JerryC

  • Simple but hard to do when you just start learning VB!

385 lines of code though is crap, I have written 3000+ lines of PHP programming code by hand for a website I am working on. I'm sure I can pick up the basics to making games soon, though! I don't even know where to start with the game development yet.

  • Yeah it was obviously the first game i've made, and 385 lines is pretty inefficient, but really at the time I had no idea about programming at all.

  • The less code the better! Either way, nice job with the game, that comment I made did sound like I was being a dick! This is awesome, I would love to make a run and gun game like Smash TV, although there's alot going on there to make a game out of!

  • Oh yea, this is sedativechunk, I'm on my other account, I just noticed! I upload martial arts videos on this account.

  • can u give me the code pls????

    i really need it!!!thanks

  • cool vid VB is awesome! =)

  • can u show me the code on how 2 hide the enemy when u hit it?

    plssssssss

  • for collision you have to make sure you test for every side of the bullet against the enemy. Man i havent done this in a while so id have toguess and id rather not mess you up, so google collision detection in visual basic and see what comes up

  • where can i download?

  • hey nid help can u post the original source code pls for my reference because we have project to make games using VB Basic 6.0 TNX!

  • Cool game

  • thanks!
