  • The 2:40 mark gives me major chills...the combination of the orchestra and chorus is just breathtaking *sigh*

    Arpa d'or dei fatidici vati,

    perché muta dal salice pendi?

    Le memorie nel petto raccendi,

ci favella del tempo che fu!

  • I have no words to say how beautifully this reaches to yhe depth of my soul. May you be richly blessed and thank you so very very much.

  • Beautiful. Makes me weep.

  • Beautiful...

  • превосходный браво!

  • Verdi was very gifted, and blessed. Not the son of God. lol lol far from it. However, if you thought that of Verdi, what would you think of Jesus Christ. hmmmm!!!

  • @hamb4

Nice fella, shame about the whole being nailed to a tree thing, must have hurt a bit.

  • Original y muy bello. Gracias.

  • «bravo..superbe !!!

  • Chyle czola przed geniuszem, coz wiecej mozna powiedziec

  • I'm amazed at the unison singing for the size of the Chorus. I don't know if it's an illusion, but it looks like an XL chorus. My favorite chorus of all time, well sung. thank you.

  • @hamb4 No optical illusion. The choir consists of amateur singers from almost all of Norway. One from each municipality and workers from the building companies that build the opera.

  • But Verdi was really son of God !!!

  • Dear musicfriend,

THIS REALLY IS AMAZING - SUCH A WONDERFUL PIECE FROM THE GREAT COMPOSER VERDI !!!

Absolutely cold shivers over my body, AN AWASOME LIVE PERFORMANCE !!

Our absolutely compliments to you all for this amazing MASTERWORK !!

I have uploaded this wonderful classical piece myself today, I played the song on my Suzuki chromatic harmonica, this song has always been one of my favorites !!

Dearest greetings from Chris and Mayka – The Netherlands - Europe.

  • @chrismayka sang by the people involved in building the house (amaters) backed up by the chorus of the norwegian opera :)

  • Dear musicfriend,

Thank you so much for your reaction to us, we would be very grateful to you if your would take the time to listen to our version of "Chorus of Hebrew Slaves", I took the time to play this wonderful piece of the very famous Opera on my Suzuki chromatic harmonica because this piece has always been 1 of my favorites !!

Thanks for watching our videoclip, we would be very grateful to you !!

    Have a very nice week.

Best regards from Chris and Mayka - The Netherlands - Europe.

  • Incredible setting. Beautiful. Thank you.

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • MARAVILLOSA INTERPRETACION LIBRE...EN VERDAD UNA ORIGINALIDAD!!!!! YO HABIA VISTO NABUCCO EN MADRID EN VERSION LIBRE, PERO ESTA TB ESTA GENIAL-!!!!!!

  • How could one not like this beautiful song performed so well? I have always wanted to visit Oslo, but its a bit of a journey from California. Maybe someday.

  • @wdstirner rather visit Bergen, its more beautifull ^^ Oslo just have all these drug dealers and stuff

  • bravoooo!!

  • the Best!

  • stunning on first viewing then you find out that they arent professionals and were involved in building the place?!? amazing version.

  • Skjer med kilt a xD

  • Thank you for the explanation merqury5 - I guess I was being a bit flippant, my excuses... I did recognize some of the Scandinavian national costumes, but had a hard time jiving that with the hardhats, now I know they built it, and am very moved! amazing!

  • Me encantooooo ;)!!!

  • arnull. the choir was put together with people who buildt the opera house..

  • what is this? costumes of the world? wage slaves? casting call for a construction company? Lovely voices though and the smoke was a nice touch.... I guess in Norway, with the long winters the imagination runs rampant, when one is snowbound around the hearth...

  • @arnull40 Those people are few of us who contributed to build this place. Some chose to dress in our national costumes, which are unique to each county.(bunad)

  • @arnull40 If I'm not mistaken, the song is about the Hebrews who were conquered and forcibly taken from Judah, turned into slaves and driven to Babylon by Nebucadnezzar. Imagine the hardships and sufferings that the Hebrew slaves experienced while they were led out of on foot to Babylon! Women who cannot walk were left behind weeping as they looked at their men and their young boys and girls walking on foot being led out out of the holy city! Dress is not an issue here.

  • BRILLIANT!!!!

  • Yo soy mas guapo

  • Inusitada y hermosa puesta en escena. BELLA!

  • SImply breathtaking - wonderful and brilliant performance

  • Bravo , Oslo ! Minunat !

  • This was the final song of the farewell to my grandmother, who passed away on December 27th 2009. I miss you...

  • Best version posted on the Web, marvelous.

  • THE MOST BEAUTIFUL, TOUCHING AND MOST WONDERFUL VERSION I HAVE EVER SEEN AND LISTEN TO OF MY FAVORITE SONG.Thank you very much to each one of you.

  • That's a very nice and unusual interpretation of the "Nabucco"!

    Bravi!

  • this is the best version i have heard Verdi would be proud

  • Bravo!

  • absolutely brilliant, whoever planned this is a genius, plus, working for Siemans, I know all about slavery (just kidding Boss)

  • de lo mejor que oido y visto de esta area de verdi..la propuesta excelente el coro maravilloso........felicitaciones ....deben colocar mas videos de este coro de otras operas en los que ellos canten

  • Vakkert, men var det 400 som sang??

  • To be in a space filled with these voices must have been amazing.

    Thanks for the posting

  • Jeg er sååååååååååååååå stollt over å være en del av dette koret.

    Tove

  • What a brilliant rendition of this chorus. Quite amazing!!

Thanks you Operaduets, and thank you to the choir from Norway.

  • Just like in Legoland

  • @erolbruno Isn't it !!! i like your metaphor :)

  • This is how many people it takes to produce Verdi properly!!

  • What is the story of this particular production? Hardhats etc???

  • The choir represents all the people who helped build the new opera house.

  • WOW - that is amazing! Thanks so much for the response, tractive. I am in AWE!

  • They don't just represent all the people who buildt the house, they actually ARE the people who buildt the house. There are some professional singers, but the choir consists mainly of construction workers and cleaning staff and so on. Its great :-)

  • despedimos a mi mamá con esta canción, we say good bye to my mom with this song.

  • Impressive...

  • Love it just love it

  • Tusen takk!

  • wow 400 people marching towards the audience, that's one BIG stage. impressive

  • Fantastisk imponerende, og symbolikken i dette nummeret var genialt. En av kveldens höjdare uten tvil! Takk for at du la den ut :)
