Why the hell didn't they make Brawl exactly like Melee, but with better graphics and more characters to select from. Brawl is the reason why Ken retired.
@ShawnMarth11 Ken retired before Brawl was released. There would be absolutely no reason to retire just because it was released anyway. There is still a very strong competitive scene in Melee, it's just not MLG anymore. Go to TheWaffle77's channel and you'll see players beyond Ken's caliber.
i got it..... ken did short hop nutral a and missed the first attack and shiek got attack inbetween them and then ken pressed a again....sems like it makes sense.

What happened I think is that Sheik wave-shielded into one of Marth's attacks, pushing him back. Ken wasn't expecting it and didn't anticipate the need to recover in time.
ken did that wavedash thing as soon as he landed and slid off and neutral A which basically lagged him from doing any recoverys. isnt that wat happened?
Kind of. When you hold back on the control stickk during a wavedash to grab the edge, you just fall off, and Ken was probably going to grab the edge and pop up into an N-Air while having the frames but tapped the stick slightly too far.
well.... he did wavedash off the stage but as soon as he did he did an attack in the air so he wasnt able to jump.... but he did touch the ground because in the bubble where it shows where he is, u can see him jump once before he dies
okay ive seen this clip a million times and im still not sure exactly what happened, part of the screen blocked off messes with me. what happened to ken that made him lose the last stock? from what i saw dsf stored needles, and went to sheild grab ken but ken slid backwards off the stage with a nair.
im pretty sure what actually happened was ken teched the fair and grabbed ledge, but the momentum pushed him off the ledge and he probably meant to do something else but ended up nairing.
yeah i'm pretty sure that wans't a wavedash. not only did he not touch the ground after he hit the ledge but you can't wavedash off the stage. you could mess up a wavedash and fall off the stage but thats not what he did either. actually, now i'm not sure what he did...
no you can WD off the stage, especially backwards. pros do it all the time for fast edgehogging. and no ken didnt touch the ground because if he did he would have had a jump and been able to recover. (wd off the stage with a nair and you can recover with a jump and upb)
wavedashing onto the edge is NOT wavedashing off the stage...and no, not only pro's do that, i know a buncha noobs that do that too. everybody does it. also, when did i say he touched the ground? i didn't say that. anyway. its still pretty confusing what actually happened.
Umm, you CAN wavedash off the stage. I know you don't mean onto the edge. You can actually wd off without grabbing the edge. Try diing away, or in this case, do an attack. He wavelanded off, and naired by accident. He could have been attempting a quickedge nair, but I don't think he could screw up that bad.
@BuddhaLovax420x yeah it was a waveland, he probably meant to shield or roll i see that happen here and there when you empty jump and try to shield when you land.
Come on Ken, you had it in the bag twice. The ending where you were comboed over and over was rediculous. Of course, I wouldnt be able to do better. Good fight.

I just noticed a phantom hit at 1:47 when Marth was getting up. If it wasnt a phantom hit, Shiek wouldnt have grabbed.

First Shiek death could've been avoided by switching to Zelda then doing the Up B.
Leavant 4 years ago
It would probably be easy for Ken to counter that anyway.
