Speed Racer isn't popular at all in Japan, which is probably why he didn't appear as a playable character.

I hope they make TvC2 with Speed Racer and Racer X.

@EliroX904 The real reason is money. Speed Racer alone would cost quite a bit to license because of the companies that hold the license here in America. The theme song would be just as expensive if they wanted to use it in the game.

@RSXemperor The main reason they took out was that Niitsuma(Director of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Marvel vs. Capcom 3) said that he couldn´t find a way to fit the Mach 5 in the game, so he decided to remove Speed Racer.

Samurai Pizza Cats was removed because Tatsunoko didn´t wanted them and they also removed Phoenix Wright.
