  • my first and greatest love will always be the art student with the dark hair who appears at 0:35. at the risk of sounding like a cyber-stalker, I'd give anything to learn who she is.

  • The theme tune is now out on sale! YES!

  • Margo was lovely I love arty women.

Tony Hart, Liza Brown, Margo, Morph = Legends

  • i used to Fancy Mrgot

  • Im 33 soon and this has made me feel like a kid again. Brings back happy memories but I never did see my picture on his gallery. I still enjoyed watching it. Kids tv was so much better back then.

  • I loved this show made me wanna grow up to be an artist, got close I'm a graphic/web designer now :D

  • @geeml I love this show as well XD

I remember when my bro and I used to watch it together XD was an awesome show XD

I studied Art and Design in college (foundation and then intermedate) and now am thinking of doing something along the lines of a kids comic book based on animals :D

I'd have loved to have met Tony Hart in person but I came to being almost like.... five feet away from him coz he was doing a shop floor thing near to where Iive =/

I was only a small kid at the time

    good series :D

  • I want to know who wrote the music too, it sounds like Ultravox.

  • if you watch the hartbeat ending on one of the clips it will tell you. Its David Owen Smith

  • yeah but who wrote this tune even the BBC cant tell me :(

  • yeah but who wrote this tune nobody can tell me not even the BBC

  • Ah, happy days. You'd never get an older man presenting a children's programme on TV now, someone would accuse them of being a peadophile in no time at all :(

  • Sad but probably true.

  • @Tmuk2 no man u still have rolf harris say no more

  • Tony inspired me so much growing up. I'm now an Art teacher!

  • I loved this show as a child, it was so much better than Art Attack...

  • I wish the BBC would release all the Hart Beats on DVD, I loved watching them when I was younger and often wonder how many great artists he inspired over the years. I ended up going to the same art college as him!

  • Only the Street Hawk theme beats it, lol.

  • Tell me about it matafuko, totally a club track for the 1st 4 seconds, that reverse cymbal is a staple of modern trance music! Wonder what year this was out, it was the 1980's! Way before any trance or dance music was even a twinkle in music producers bollocks. You hear this and start to see how the music came about, inspirational shit like this we all remember as kids. :)

  • A true gentleman and a great show. RIP Mr Hart

  • punch the air to the first 4 seconds, this wouldn't sound out of place in a night club

  • Blimey. Its like Kraftwerk after tea and biscuits

  • RIP Tony Hart

used to love watching your programme

and tryed some of the art

    u are a legend !!!

  • you were truly a legend. Rest in Peace tony hart

  • R.I.P Tony Hart

  • Tony you inspired me to use my imagination, be creative and have fun, and for that I can't begin to thank you - god bless :)

  • Classic. The intro is so 80s! Compare Tony Hart to the modern glue-sniffers we have today, and learn!

  • Always loved watching Tony Hart when I was a kid & was the main reason why I had such a interest in art at school, RIP Tony, hope your inspiring others up in heaven

  • Very sad to hear that Tony had died. You inspired several generations. RIP.

  • Fantastic show. This was when it was at it's best. You inspired millions of kids and made art interesting for them. RIP Tony...

It just seems eerie this video was uploaded just 3 days before his death.

  • RIP Tony.

  • Thanks for all the good times Tony. RIP

  • Another legend from my childhood has gone. Rest In Peace Tony.

  • Yep Tony Hart was a legend! RIP

  • RIP Tony. Legend

  • what a legend!

  • anyone remember body talk from the same time as this? skinny old bloke wearing lycra body suit ! fabulous!

  • im trying to find a probram on youtube that i swear was on cbbc1 around 1990. it was called Bitsa, can anyone recal this? had some caravan people making art out of old junk and was very of it's time, newage and all that.

  • bitsa had a brilliant theme tune.

Bitsa this bista that put em all together and what have you got.

  • bits of this bits of that, put em all together and what've you got? bits and pieces, bits and bobs, bitsa-bitsa-bitsa-bits-and-pieces...

  • classic stuff. I wonder if anyone has a clip of the TAKE HART series titles. A similar programme, but it featured more Morph.

  • Lol, 0:31 - anyone recognise where Tony's standing? Can't quite make out the signpost...

  • This was one of my favourites as a child. The tune brings back some memories of more simple days. Wonderful!

  • MR BENNET!!!!
