  • Man dose not care what he built. I think this will be the fate of the Class 390 Pendolino, and Class 220 and 221 Voyager. such a shame.

  • why are these locos mouth balled, nearly all will never go back into service so why not cut them up and scrap them,a lot of money sitting there in scrap..dont understand this...there loads of other scrap rolling stock down there as well, must be millions of pounds worth of metal just rusting away.

  • This is really sad to watch. I have happy memories of travelling behind an anglia/intercity 86 between Norwich and London, and the 87s between London and Manchester.

It seems wrong to see such great trusty workhorses just rotting away like that. Really sad. I wish I could buy one and repaint it into Intercity exec or the early BR blue/white. Surely theres room for a few of the in some museums?

  • 86 401 still in nse livery absolutely amazing hope someone preserves her, shame about the euro vandalism on the other 86, anyone know when the next open day is?

  • NSE blue fleck moquette in the cab!

  • It will take someone with very deep pockets to buy all these locos but if Iwon the lottery Iwould buy a couple of these

  • if i were rich enough i would buy all the locos restore them and then suw all the companies who dumped them and use them again (cheaper railways lol)

  • @Albear20 yup me too

  • some of those trains look like in very good 'nick' to be rusting away lol

  • The ones in good nick aren't rusting away, they are visiting preserved locos :)

  • @TheMysticEgg some of the anglia 86s look ok though?!

  • Excellent video Greg, shame to see so many usefull locos just sitting there doing nothing, excellent filming and editing, 5*

  • Thanks very much Jamie. Yh I know, so sad.

  • Aww man, I was planning to go to this but my GCSE exams got in the way, (typical!). At least i can see what went on at the open day. Super vid m8, great shots of 86401 Northhampton Town!

  • Cheers mate, yh exams got in the way for me too a few weeks ago meaning I missed a few specials :(

  • 5* for the uplpoad.. Its such a huge shame to see all that wonderful old railway equipment rusting away, not cared for and having no use at all. For me especially the Class 86's and 87's. They used to be regulars down by my house where I lived in Macclesfeld, working Eus-Picc and B'ham to Picc etx. The AC Electric hum and unique scream will never be forgotten and is much missed! :( They had years and years left its so sa to see them wasting away like that :(

  • Thanks very much mate, it pains me to see them all rusting away. They did all that work and it doesn't seem right that we just leave them there....they certainly will be missed.

  • A superb production Greg, excellent images, complimented by the lovely soothing music...well done...5* Bob

  • Thanks v. much Bob, the sombre mood of the storage yard made me think music like this would be required.

  • Excellent video The slam door unit took my parents back to their teenage years 5*

  • Thanks mate (and to the parents as well!) :)

  • love trains and hate to see them with grafitti on them.

  • Yeh I know :(

  • shame to be seeing such nice locos gettin rusty

    good vid

  • Thanks! Yeh I know, and I wish I could have seen them in action :(

  • Very well done. I thought you captured all that brilliantly. Your attention to detail and choice of music summed it all up completely. 5*

  • Thanks mate, your kind comments are much appreciated!

  • Great Video, 5 Stars! I went on the

Sunday, it really was a great event!

  • Thanks mate, yep it certainly was!

  • Looks like you've caught me between 0:31 and 0:40 - I'm the chap (on the far left at the start of 0:31) in the slightly light red coat near the 86's. And as you pointed out on one of my videos, I must have been stood somewhere near you when Earl David came in.

    An excellent record there, 5*

  • Cheers mate, if I'd known it was you I'd have said hi :)

  • Same here.
