  • It's so rude and cruel to say that he killed his kid. Maria Sue, died from injuries sustained when IN AN ACCIDENT. She was only 5 years old and doesn't take much to get severly hurt at that age.She did get hit by her brother, however, he did not see her as he was backing out on the driveway or their home. It was devastating for the whole family, including of course, her brother. She was 5 and will be waiting for her family in heaven. R.I.P

  • @danit303 He didn't kill his daughter. It was an accident. She was playing outside when his son came home in his new car. He couldn't see her and she couldn't see him. A complete fluke. Why are you so quick to judge this hurting family? What makes you so special? The same thing could happen to you in an instant. Gone like the wind, and what would you have to show for it? An insensitive comment about a nice family who has been through a lot and don't need you to remind them of it. Why don't you

  • did he write this song after he killed his kid?

  • I love you dad :)

  • I'm 13, and how much ever big I grow, I'll never be ashamed to say my parents are my best friends next to God. Listening to this song, the thought of getting separated from my father made me get emotional...(shhh!)

  • Wow. I have a 7y/o daughter. If I lost her, I certainly would not be strong enough to NOT blame God. What an amazing song.

  • You cant hate the song if you know the true meaning, you can dislike the tune of the song...but never the song itself and its meaning!

  • The bridge is the one that gets to me. May Your kingdom come

  • when you asked "How can anyone dislike this song?" my mon does

  • Seriously... How can anyone dislike this song!?

  • @missmeganwright I was thinking the same thing. The poor man wrote a beautiful tribute to the daughter he lost. That is the problem with the internet - cold, impersonal, and unfeeling. You can post something negative and just move on.

  • this song makes me cry,but i just cant stop watching it.

  • i need prayer today i want to do whats rigth and what god would want but people are trying to pressure me out of it,and please i just want someone to pray with me

  • You know I really can relate to this song in a really strange way, maybe its not hevan yet but it sure is a dream to have my own little girl with dark brown eyes that disapear when she smiles. And only God knows how much I ask for this.

  • Im humbled by his perserverance to worship the Lord through his trial & loss. <3

  • Is any one else kinda offended by the Lady Gaga adverts on this video?

    :(

  • All I can say is WOW!!! Great Song!!!!!

  • it's songs like this that make me wish that heaven was fact so that his daughter could be up there now

  • @Wardog261291

Heaven is a fact. That's the best part. :D

  • @SkittlesWithFeathers that's your belief and i respect you for it but i'm a darwinist

  • @Wardog261291

Well, thank you for respecting my beliefs, many atheists/darwinists I talk to are extremely rude and downright nasty telling me how stupid I am. So, thank you again for respecting my beliefs. :)

Why are you a Darwinist though?

  • @SkittlesWithFeathers there is just too much evidence of evolution for me to be religious, plus the concept of God just doesn't make sense to me but that's why i have respect for people who it does, i used to be religious as a kid but i began to think differently as i grew up, plus religion has too many rules i don't find myself obeying and most things that are considered a sin i consider natural

it's better just to say believe what you believe and leave others to it :)

  • @Wardog261291

I have to disagree with you there, in reality there is practically no evidence for macro evolution... Although there is plenty of evidence for micro evolution because we can observe it. Well also, Christianity isn't a religion, it's a relationship with God, as other people have probably told you. ;)

If you would like to talk more on this message me. :) Thank you for being so polite. :D

  • @SkittlesWithFeathers like you disagreed i have to disagree as well, the evidence of evolution is all around us, fossils of creatures evolving through time and much more

but i think it's best we leave each other be, no matter how civil we keep this at some point we'll end up accidently insulting or patronising each other

i wish you luck in the future and partly wish your belief is true as i hope for all religion, what you believe in should be your reward :)

  • @Wardog261291

Well, fossils can never conclusively "prove" anything or show that evolution happened because they are dead and unchanging. In order for evolution to be "proven" we need to see animals change from one species to another. But we have never observed this, and in fact, genetic information stays constant or is lost, never gained. The paper and the ink did not write the book.

But thank you for being so polite. :D

Have an awesome weekend and God bless. ;)

  • @SkittlesWithFeathers imgoing to tell you right now i dont care if offend you if anyone in here caredlike me they would tell you GOD is going to throught you in HELL for eternity and you well burn in HELL you will never see youre family and you will never see light if you dont start going to church.monkeys arnt gonna save you then will they,no wonder thiis world is so screwed up with mureders and terrorist.its because of people like you oh its okay if i kill someone or blow up a building

  • @ilovetosniptryhards

Why did you respond to a comment left 2 months ago...?

No, I'm not offended. Mostly because I have no idea what you just said. Something about not going to church? I can't physically go to church because I have a problem with crowds. I go online.

Monkeys aren't going to save me...? That's pretty obvious.

I never said it was ok to blow someone up....? That's not ok at all.

    Bye....?

  • @ilovetosniptryhards Um... Skittles was the one defending Christianity. And by the way, if you're trying to show the love of God to nonbelievers, you're doing a terrible job. Yes, nonbelievers go to Hell, but we can _stop_ that if we're civil and show them Christ's love.

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than walking into a garage makes you a mechanic. It takes faith for that.

Atheists don't cause bombings and killings. Sin does.

  • @JinxSharpieMarkers i know thats why i stoped responding i read the comments backwards backwards sorry skittles. and youre right i need to express gods love. i just want to point out why i said that ya i may be wrong but were not the judge of that.anywhere heres youre example if you listened to this song it my have inspired you to pray then got to bed, but if you watch the passsion of christ you will be crying on youre knees and be praying hard. I was just tryin to scare christ in him

  • @ilovetosniptryhards Okay, I understand that, but it really doesn't work if you try to scare God into someone. And I've never seen the Passion (my parents would let me even when I was 15 and it came out, but it was too much for me), so I can't agree or disagree there.

Sorry if I sounded harsh before. Have a good day :)

  • @JinxSharpieMarkers once again sorry skittles wrong accusations. anyway if you see it youll no exacly what im talking about

  • this had me in tears, such a beautiful tribute to his daughter and lovely to see he is embracing his faith in dealing with such a painful loss, i can't wait untilt he day my daddy leads me to the Fathers arms :)

  • @iPray4Peace, I have been meditating on that same line about "Heaven is the place where (he) takes my hand..." I have to say "he" because it's my son I'm looking forward to seeing--it's been 10 years now since he died of leukemia and passed into his Father's arms.

  • I cry every time I listen to this song. I have a 5 year old little girl and don't know if I'd have the strength or the faith if were to ever lose her. If you want to see what his little girl looked like when they adopted her, look up "When love takes you in" by SCC, he wrote that song when she came home. God Bless!

  • @drdoolittle1976 in when love takes you in, that is shoahannah their first adopted daughter. Maria was the third and youngest child they adopted.

  • @1jeffbrown thanks for the correction, didn't realize that.

  • the power it took to write this song in a state of grief that strong staggers me. if you dont believe in god or his awesome power maybe this song can convince you of it. this man lost his daughter! and in the face of that pain it would have been so easy to blame it all on god and deny him..but this man faced it all down and still glorified god despite his obvious heartache. to god be the glory.. he gave chapman strength to do something that most men could never accomplish. god is great

  • i heard this song on the radio about a year ago and i swore it would be impossible for me to find so i never tried but im glad i finally tried because this is such an amazingly powerful song. and i know my name is ashofoblivion but thats kind of a statement not a belief system. this is such an amazing song. i havent lost a child but im too young for that at this point. but i have lost family and this is just amazing.

  • what happened to his daughter?

  • @alliepaige9898

his son was backing out of the drive way and he didnt see her.

she died eight days after her 5th birthday , they tried to save her on the way to the hospital but they couldn't.

just before the accident he wrote the song cinderella.

  • the line "There's no more enemy" gives me chills as I whisper it to myself

  • @trizzo98 I Know this I just love them so. :) My gifts from HIM. :)

  • I LOVE this Song!!! <3 :]

  • That's the first time i've cryed in atleast a year in a half, and it feels good. I needed this song. Steven if your girl never passed away no one would have heard these amazing words from your heart, and i honestly think from gods heart as well, so your daughter is a life giver, and for that i thank her and you.

  • Everything happens for a reason, god loves us and our childeren, so no matter what happens, atleast some one will be there when it's all over. One day i'm going to see my sister again, and i can't wait. Love you sis

  • if I lost any one of my children I would be a basket case.

  • i just lost my friend..and even hearing this song makes me wanna tear up :(

  • Praise God

  • If you have a spare couple minutes, it would be great if you would watch my cover of this song.

    Sorry for begging!

  • This song makes me think of the first time I met my Uncle Greg. time I was only Four but we were going to his Daughters Funeral her name was Randy she had died from Meningitis. I heard the full story recently .

She had woken up in the middle of the night and he had comforted her laid her on his chest and she fell asleep he did to and he woke up about a hour later and she hadnt moved a muscle his year old little girl had passed away right there story gets me everytime its terrible.

  • @ImnotgodbutIownyou He was with her at the end. What a precious life.

  • So beautiful. SCC is one very anointed man. He depicts Jesus in a very real way. Amazing song writer as well as singer.

  • Steven Curtis Chapman! Your Incredible, may God Bless You(:

  • @cassfreak22 We're the ones that make this planet Satan-temted. The animals certainly don't do it, they kill to survive, we kill because we think it's better that way. Most don't but those few people can't decide when the war will be over. People fight to protect what think is right. Religion is the biggest fight there is, muslim, christian, jewish. All a fight to decide which is the best. Too bad the fight went farther then words to costing loved ones their lives, innocent people their lives.

  • This is the first time I've heard this song... It brought me to such tears... I have a child. He's healthy and beautiful and the most precious piece of heart. And if I lost him... I wouldn't know what to do.... This is exactly how I would feel... And I'm so thankful that I get to kiss him every day and feel his soft skin against mine... Just thinking of how it would be if I ever lost him makes my heart ache. I thank God for my beautiful boy... Our children are so precious...

  • @cassfreak22 Me too! I can't wait until He returns for His children. I can only imagine what that day will be like...

  • Oh how the family handled this i'm sure was very hard. But they believe so much in God and they know that they will see this little girl again.. God Bless them.. Such a beautiful song. I hope that everyone that reads this doesn't have to deal with the death of a child. But if you do rem this song..

  • I tried to learn how to play this song. I heard it on the radio and that it wud be fun to learn. Id never actually heard the entire thing so I had no idea what I was in for. When I got to the third verse, I cried. Of course I'd heard the story about what happened and why this song was written but..... Mr. Chapman this song is a work of art.

  • This song will minister to SO many people. To be able to put into such beautiful words, your feelings and pain is a wonderful gift and I along with thousands of others, are truly blessed by that. My prayers will continue to be with you and your family.

  • so beautiful!

  • @cassfreak22 I know! I am too! (:

  • I thumbs down the 9 people who tumbs this down

  • This song is so sad. It makes you want to cry all the stuff that he has gone through. While I still complain and I have gone through nothing compared to him and others.

  • @kmjesusfreak You're quite welcome. (: God Bless.

  • @kmjesusfreak It doesn't have to make sense. Jesus gave his life to us because he LOVES us. Completely. Unconditionally. And yes, it's hard to stay on the right path sometimes, but your motivation should be that God's always gonna accept you back when you finally say 'Lord, I'm so sorry. Please forgive me once again.' He's gonna take you back in. That's all there is to it.

  • @iPray4Peace thank you I am always haveing a hard time with that. I have never thought of or heard of it the way you put it though so thank you.

  • @kmjesusfreak I said I can't wait for that day. And everyone SHOULD be nervous if they haven't been doing what we were called to do on this earth. But those who have been faithful to God and have been doing His word, they have no reason to be nervous. (: And I think he can get through it because he knows God's been with him and his family the entire time, and I think that's what gives him hope to keep writing spectacular music. (:

  • @iPray4Peace I dont know how to stay on the path of God when we dont desurve what we are getting from God it brakes me heart to think about what Jesus did for me and for everyone why would He take on the wieght of the world just for us it doesnt make sience

  • this is a sad song! I got to meet this person at a concert before. When I first ever heard this song I never knew this was about his daughter! I pray for him.

  • This tragedy was so heavy that if you overcame this, what else can you not overcome? He is a remarkable person to have overcame this. God has shown His wonders through him and others who had gone worst things in life you can even imagine.

  • just listened to him sing this at higher ground with his sons. i burst into tears as soon as i realized it was about Maria Sue...

this man's faith is truly remarkable.

  • I just heard him sing this song at the Harvest Crusade sunday, and I cried... He has been through such tragedies and has grown so much in his faith through it. I honestly liked hearing him sing live rather then this, he is still amazing though!

  • i can not wait to die to go to heaven but i will live my life till i die and then i can see my close friend my grandpa my grandma and then i think very soon my mom....... i miss then so much.....

  • this is my favorite song ever. I can't wait till I can see my sisters again :)

  • I LOVE YOU STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN! God bless you so much. This is such a beautiful song. I know God's smiling down at you, (:

  • This song makes me cry. It's an awesome song, and to be able to over come the death of his little daughter and sing this song is amazing. This just shows how much he loves God. God Bless You All!

  • this is such a touching song! i cry every time i hear it. to think that God was there when Stephen's his little girl was hit and let her come to Him(heaven) is so sad. there must have been a reason... and then Stephen wrote this song and it is just so so sad.

  • This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. I can't help it, it's so touching. :')

  • I love this song, i heard it on the radio and i was almost brought to tears ;)

    Thnx

  • I love this song he has so much strength and power in God 2 sing this song after what happened 2 his daughter its so sad :(

  • This is such a beautiful song. I love Steven Curtis Chapman's songs because of how beautiful they are and I can always understand what he's saying....and I also feel sorry for him considering his loss of a child at such a young age...everytime I hear his songs like this, it just makes me want to cry.

  • This song gives me chills all over my body and Goose bumps and gives me chills because I know the Pain that Steven Curtis Chapman is feeling when he sins this.

  • he is an amazing musician. and this song shows that. amazing inspirational song about his daugther who passed away. I love this song.

  • This song is beautiful. Everyone who's starting to think of earth as our permanent home needs to hear this song, because it gives us hope and reassures us that we'll be in heaven one day, praising God forever more.

Don't worry Steven, you'll see your little girl again.

  • i love you baby girl and miss you so much.

  • this is one of my fav songs of SCC's I love your work dude!!!

  • I have 4 kids, 3 are girls....everytime I feel overwhelmed with raising the beautiful gifts GOD has given me...I listen to this song, worship and pray...it instantly makes me want to pick them up and love them...Praise be to you Jesus! How small and insignificant is stress compared to the pain of any parent who has lost a child. God bless everyone with grace and mercy who knows that pain, my heart aches for you...but more importantly so does GODs.

  • Steven... if your ever reading this, just know that your daughter is in a better place for ever now, and one day you'll be there with her, Don't worry god will give you your chance to be her dad, In some way's i feel a pain too, my sister that could have been older than me by now never was born... and i always wanted a sister, and now my parent's are 40 and i don't think i'm getting one :( I always thought maybe i'll see her in heaven one day, I hope too.

  • IS SO...WELL...I CAN´T STOP CRYING

  • Such an annointed song. I sob everytime I here this. Every time. I feel his pain, but I feel the Lord telling him and myself "I know your pain, I understand. I am here." God I love you my beloved. Yeshua! Yeshua! Ani Ohevet Otcha! Jesus, Jesus, I love you!! Thank you Lord.

  • Wow: When a song brings to me emotions such as ive' never experienced it truly makes me realize how much God loves us. To give us emotions and then the ability to write music such as Steven Curtis Chapman has written, WOW

  • My favorite line in this song is ''Heaven is a place where she takes my hand , and leads me to You, and we both run into Your arms." I cannot wait for that day. I simply cannot.

  • @iPray4Peace how are you able to wait for that day I am so neverous for that day to come and how is he able to still sing when we lost his little girl

  • @iPray4Peace WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WORDS ........PRAISE GOD, HE IS WONDERFUL !!!!!!!

  • oh my god.. this is an amazingly beautiful song.. i love it.. i hope that him an his family find all their trust in the lord and hold on to that..

  • Wow that is so cute and sad and what hurts more is that my real name is heaven

  • what a good song. God, please comfort him and his family <3

  • i love it its sad but awesome

  • To think of heaven, where I'll be someday, as a loving, perfect model of the family, with the Lord as our Father, is... comforting. No other religion has God being our loving, caring Father as does Christianity.

  • i love this song. To know that God is on your side is so reliveing and to know that God gets you out of anything and any situation is so encourageing.

  • beautiful=)

  • To know God like this. To trust God like this. This is my prayer.

  • i love steven curtis chapman, and this song makes me cry! i love it!

  • Wow. This song really speaks to me! I know someone who has just lost their daughter and this makes me so sad.

  • It must be nothing short of a miracle to attempt to find and somehow discover redemptive words for such pain. I ache for his ache... and am humbly silent at his praise.

  • @tonymyles - beautifully said.

  • such a sad song, such a poor girl, such good words... love it

  • heartbreaking

  • je ne conaissais pas mais j'aime beaucoup!tres jolie musique!
