Why some people that dont like it ? This video was well worked. There always someone who dont like good videos. At least, sensd a video response with a better video. Good job Chris Gen. You're very professional.
Hey! My arrival in Narita airport was perfect..thanks to your vid. I followed exactly what you told here and it was pretty easy. Thanks for sharing. When I saw the familiar landmarks, it wasn't that scary anymore. Went to that ticket office to buy the Suica card and went straight to Asakusa. Thanks again! I'm recommending this video to my friends who'll be going there next month. :)
I wish this video existed last March when I went to Japan-- my flight got in late to Narita, and I spent about an hour trying to figure out how to get to Atsugi.
I ended up taking the limousine bus since it was going to leave in 15 minutes, instead of the JR Express, which I had to wait another hour for. Sure, it took awhile to get to where I needed to go, but I got to see the busy Tokyo expressways during rush hour.

Kinda wish i had stumbed onto this before my trip to japan. This information would have been very helpful as I was just travelling around by myself! Hope to see more videos so I can plan my next trip to Japan! Thanks Chris!
hey this such a great video. i'm planning on going to tokyo this summer but i was wondering whats the difference between Suica card and the PASMO card?
You can save another 2000 yen or so by going on the Keisei Line. But that's definitely for advanced users only, you will have to switch in Ueno, if you wanna go to Tokyo station.
Does the Japan Rail Pass include the train ride from Narita to Shinjuku?
And, in The Netherlands we now have a card that is pretty similar to the Suica but includes all public transport nationwide. (Well at least when it's done, right now in a few areas it's still not usable.)
Hey man. Really nice vid. However im still wondering if there is any kind of card that you can purchase that gives you 3 months of subway. In my description about how to get to my school it says 24,830 yen for a 3 month train pass. Where can i purchase this?
really helpful video! going to japan on the 17th of december. i have one question though! can you go purchase the suica card and THEN go take the bus, because I think we will be too exhausted to be taking the train/subway. but we do want the suica card for other days when we're traveling around tokyo :-) I have watched all your vids and Tokyo seems like so much fun!
Great video, awesome . But why not use the Keisei line? I always and only use the kesei regular commuter. Its a bit slow, but it drops you off in Ueno or Nishi-nippori for the cheapest fare of any of the options. 1,000 yen one way.
@tokyocooney Suica (スイカ Suika?) is a rechargeable contactless smart card used as a fare card on train lines in Japan. Launched in November 2001, the card is usable currently in the Kantō region, at JR East stations near Sendai and Niigata.
I always give the same tips to anyone going in japan. It even says in the pamphlet that comes with your nex/suica card NEX+SUICA IS A VERY GOOD DEAL, they cant lie to you!
I guess most of the tourists comming to Japan already has JR pass(otherwise it costs them a fortune to get around the country), therefore, JR is only option for them.
btw i have some question. what time do they last train/subway services end? just to make sure i knew the rough timing so i would expect to take a cab while havin a late night in tokyo.
Great Video. I am arriving at Narita end of this week and meeting a friend, so our plan is to meet at Starbucks in the basement next to the trains, The Starbuck you show in your video is this terminal 1?
Nice video, really brought back memories. Used Narita Express first two trips but used Keisei Limited Express last time because its one third the price and it stops in Ueno where my cheapo hotel was. Hope you do a vid on the various cheap hotels to stay in. Used Sawanoya Ryokan and Aizuya Inn on my last trip. Excellent places. Keep up the good work.
Saw your video on Japan Probe and just subscribed to all your channels. Keep making videos like this, you're doing great! Can't wait to go to Japan some day!
My first comment got truncated, so I was not able to say what I wanted to. I think this is an excellent video. It is so helpful for first timers coming to Japan. The graphics are remarkable, especially the maps. Wow! That's real professional stuff! The transitions are done very well too. All around this is a very well thought out and executed video for Japan Travel TV. Congratulations.
Thank you for that very usefull information. next vacation is going to be tokyo. all rdy have my tickets ^^ :D so I loved this video and so easy to remember the info :)

I usually take the Keisei to Ueno station since my hotel is usually in Asakusa, but this information is good nonetheless. Maybe next time I'll take the Narita Express.
haha wish this was up pre september! =P I took the bus, It wasn't too bad and very easy to use when you are a noob. I'll use the subway when I'm back in april! Cheers!!!
Great video man. I prefer the bus though, mainly because i usually arrive in Japan with a bunch of luggage and taking it on the train is a hassle i like to avoid as much as possible haha
I love the bus too. I prefer going to Narita with the bus over the train any day. The only thing with the bus is you can totally get stuck in traffic. Especially during the evening rush hour between 5-7pm.
Which terminal you arrive at depends entirely upon which airline you take. For example, United Airlines puts you into Terminal #1, American Airlines puts you into #2, with no Starbucks. Nevermind North/South.
Which train line is better for you also depends on where you're headed. JR is better tied in to the rest of the country but if you're headed to Ueno, maybe for a hotel or to catch a Shinkansen north, Keisei is better.

Yes, the JR Pass covers the services of the Narita Express train. The journey to Shinjuku should take about 60 minutes I think.
