  • NICOLE SEAH IS MY ROLE MODEL <3

  • Nicole Seah is a small meteorite that will burn out once on terra firma. It was a gawking party with her as the guest-of-honour at the Medical Alumni. The secretary blocked or placed restrictions that only support for her allowed. She failed to answer the questions on her political pluralism whim as to what sort of democracy she envisages for Singapore - Western ideals or Asian Confucian Paternalism. On what basis is Prof Arthur Lim’s view that she “can in time be the first female PM.”

  • Hey all, who is Singapore's favourite politician? answers at my channel!

  • nicole you are the real star....

  • @irischong88 - NICOLE - You are the falling star, a black star ,

  • An incredible person. She belongs in politics.

  • what is nicole seahs twitter ?:)

  • Tin Pei Ling actually epitomises the spirit of more than half our citizens - feet-stamping, fake, ignorant, materialistic... She is elected as a national symbol to remind us of ourselves.

  • Bravo ... One of it kind in hundred years. A true star for tomorrows' Singapore. You ready did us proud big time!

  • Well said Nicole.... Singapore loves you. Kudos for your guts and courage to speak out. Salute to your strong conviction and passion. You are really a gem and will have a good future ahead. God will protect those who are genuine and truthful. You really have a heart for the poor. Go go go Nicole.. 10,000 times better than TPL (beauty without a brain). Best of luck..

  • GO NICOLE!

  • Well done Ms Seah. Best wishes from your fellow Singaporean living in UK.

Satirical Domestic Maid - very funny article ...... enjoy reading

One friend is very inexperienced, can't do basic tasks or explain what she intends to do. I suspect that she is actually underage. When interviewed, she only seemed interested in her days-off and visiting Universal Studios. When she couldn't answer my questions she stomped her foot and exclaimed, "I don't know what to say!" But I am still expected to pay her a high salary.

  • HOW TO VOTE FOR A good GOVERNMENT explained:

    VOTE WISELY!

A good government is one that is truthful enough to let the citizens know:

1] The status quo of the reserve so that the citizens will know whether the ruling government is doing a good job or not!

For if the citizens are ignorant of the status quo of the reserve, then Singapore is at risk of facing collapse as the ruling

government is running S'pore like a World Business Corporation.

  • 2] the assets of all MPs. When the assets of all MPs are known, then we will know whether they would be good MP to govern or not as then Singaporean would be certain that there would be no conflict of interests - THEIR VESTED INTERESTS in public listed companies conflicting with THE INTERESTS of the Citizens - their interests in ONLY caring for themselves more than caring for the interests of Singaporean.

  • 3] SINGAPOREAN. BE WISE:

Vote with wisdom that comes with understanding of THE NEED TO HAVE AN OPPOSITION PARTY TO CHECK AND BALANCE THE PAP GOVT and TO LET THE SINGAPOREAN KNOW THE STATUS QUO OF THE RESERVE.

When Govt;s World Business Corpn collapses, then the accounts of all govt-run banks will be depleted!

HENCE HAVE NO FEAR, Vote the Opposition in to check and balance our reserve!

  • Nicole has restored and renewed my faith in the younger generation in my faraway home. Go Nicole!

  • whoa. swearing. you never swear before issit? LOL. GO NICOLE SEAHH!!!!! :D

  • We hv to be grateful for courageous, socially aware and people who r willing to put themselves out there to work for improvement rather than simply complain or be totally apathetic. We need talented new blood like her cos like it or not, the PAP 'old guard' are quickly getting too old. And then who will we be left with? People like TIN PEI LING !!!!! :(

  • @mollygolly. She IS ACTING on it. She has made a huge statement and sacrifice by standing up n putting herself up for election. No easy decision n a really risky task in a country where simply putting yourself forward to serve or question the establishment could see one mired in defamation suits that cld ruin her future. You have to give credit where it's due.

Haizzzzz

  • Szeteng87, alot of people think highly of her. Not many can do what she did for a 24, not even a fraction, not the courage, the commitment, the passion and has her kind of personality and heads-on-her-shoulder maturity. To me Nicole has what it takes, whether grassroots are not, is trivial in her case, because she got the HEART.

  • Her "achievements" sound like any normal secondary or junior college students' portfolio at the end of their pre-university academic career. Nicole has merely tried to compensate for a lack of grass-roots experience by listing what she felt made her a competent candidate. Compassion at the end of the day is only empathy, whether or not you act on it is another thing all together, and for the record, being quick to answer does not make you intelligent or eloquent.

  • @mollygolly I do think she is quick to answer eloquently and intelligently. Of course, any secondary or junior college student might go through the same "achievements" as her 'cause she was only a student then! But to be able to see from a different perspective and say "look, something needs to be changed" does not come any ANY student. To be able to stand up for the ideals you want to see & risk getting shot, takes a lot of courage, compassion & strength. Something really we need in Parliament.

  • @szeteng87 If you think that's eloquence and intelligence, you haven't paid any attention to the way the other ministers have been speaking over the years. Its always easier to criticize then to be pro-actively concerned about the issues, and what Nicole is doing is not offering solutions. Anyone can have an opinion as to what needs to be changed, and validating the right to advocate change because of your CCA list is unconvincing, in the end Nicole still doesn't have the grassroots experience.

  • Wow she is contesting against GCT & team. Just like "Davidna versus Goliath ".

Female for David=Davidna ha ha ha.

She is very matured and well spoken person and likeable personality.

  • Can't believe my ex-classmate is in politics! Salute!

  • This girl really thinks fast and talks with intelligence and eloquence! I hope she's the real deal, a very talented young lady indeed, can't believe she's only 24!

  • Wa if PAP MP GRC kana booted out,I dun know what SM Goh will have to say about TPL. Full confident on her , eh??

  • XX fails to realise that the game was never a Nicole Seah VS MM Lee setup. Rather, it's Singapore's urge to see a formidable and decent opposition, to get heard in parliament, to be truly represented and to have a healthy degree of check and balance. By deleting all pro opposition posts on her facebook page and blog, it is clear to the community that what she understands her erroneous argument, rendering the sensational post as a mere publicity stunt.

  • I like Nicole's maturity n her passion. I can feel her sincerity. She is full of wisdom too

  • Does she have stewardship??? Has she committed in fullness of time??? A sacrifice servant for the people, to the nation??? Is she sprinter or a long term player??? My discernment... A sweet beautiful rose, thorny! May God bless u n family!

  • 1:54 i can totally vouch for her. i used to sit beside her. i honestly felt like she was a big sister, but so easy to talk and relate to. jovial as well. no doubt, she has the right character for an MP.

  • very cute

  • I myself is an average Singaporean! I like that quote Nicole! I feel the same way like most other Singaporeans.

  • Mr Goh said majority not concerned about ministerial pay. Then, Why not put into a REFERENDUM for this issue.

I think it is better to peg against the lowest salary say "100 x lowest salary" in sliding scale for different grades, which is more logical to encourage them from raising the lowest salary of citizens.

  • She is good at selling herself. You see, she is an advertising executive.

  • @mengqi68 Why doesn't this apply to Ms Tin Pei Ling either? She's in marketing too, if I'm not correct.

In any case, Ms Nicole Seah seems genuine enough, with strong views on issues. That's more important than how she sells herself. Strong views mean she has thought about them, and this implies a connection with the ground that is essential to be a good MP.

  • @deyraga Actually I will be moving to Singapore from the US. I am grateful for the PAP so if I become a citizen someday I'd vote for PAP. But I think it is good for the parliament to have some opposition members who can give checks and balances. And it is good that many Singaporean politicians come from the business world. Here in the US most politicians are lawyers. They are always arguing but never deliver results.

  • Ting Pei Ling is 28 and Nicole Seah is 28. Ting looks young and innocent, but Seah looks older and more mature.

  • @mengqi68 Nicole is 24,TPL is 27/28

  • @yelaiyi Yeah I know. I made a typing mistake.

  • she's the one who brought me into politics... not only because of her age- but her good political image and maturity. nicole's the one who should be representing our gen-y community.

  • nicole has great charisma...

  • Nicole Seah know what happened of her country and society, look at her and what you found? She never take heavy make up, no scarlet lipstick on her while she face to media and to her peoples.

We needed to pass our power to peoples that they standing with us and stay with our country sincerity.

  • she is so talented, im like watching all her videos!

  • i can tell from her diction that she's very sincere and serious about effecting change so yeah, i believe what she says. I would vote for you ms seah, not only for your courage but for your determination and sincerity i think you deserve a chance to help change the status quo as u put it :) BUT i stay in a different GRC! darn!

  • Nicole Seah is so natural, quick-minded, mature, confident and energetic. It is a big insult to compare her with TPL. She can even take on most of our million-dollar salaried minister anytime and make them look ordinary. The scary part is she is only 24 years old. She will be Singaporean voices. She is definitely ministerial material, given the opportunity. Hope that opposition gets stronger as time goes by and open door for her political career. She is a gem! A long long way to go!

  • Dear Nicole Seah, if you're reading this, I would just like you to know that you're such an inspirational role model and you would definitely have my vote even though I am sadly too young to ballot and i'm in a different GRC.

  • Comment removed

  • Tin Pei Ling is a trivial issue. NICELY SAID NICOLE!

  • I can tell she was talking with heart, not like some of PAP new clowns.

  • .. To make a change for the less fortunate in Singapore. It is the far far harder path and for this I salute you Nicole - wish I could hv the chance to vote for you

  • Nicole clearly wants to make a change. She cld hv joined the PAP ( but wld have been regarded too vocal for them), and been relegated to sitting quietly as a backbencher, cashing her $15,000 salary each month for being sumissive or just yawning n dozing during parliament (we have all seen the tv footage). But she has chosen to take the path less travelled and that has made all the difference - her choice of path shows that she is here to speak up, to work, to challenge and to make a change fo

  • Nicole Seah is one in a million. At 24, I may have been able to speak as eloquently as her, but I would not have had the courage to publicly stand up against the PAP or to sacrifice my career to serve the people. Her parents have clearly raised her well. She gives me hope that the new generation of singaporeans can be like her, socially concerned, unafraid of challenging norms, unblinkered. My regret is she is not in my grc and I can't support her courage.

  • Ms. Seah's compassion for the weaker and less fortunate of society and her sense of justice cannot but find a resonance in Singaporeans with hearts. A true daughter of Singapore.

  • Ms. Seah is certainly impressive. Her compassion for the weaker and less fortunate of society and her sense of justice impresses me. A true daughter of Singapore.

  • R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Period.

Possess the mentality, compassion and knowledge of a youngamatuer-but-respectable politician. Tin Pei Ling on the other hand possess everything of a blooming 18-YO when she is way older than Nicole.

  • Comment removed

  • i believe that a team is only as strong as its weakest link, so even tho goh chok tong and tpl are in the same team, it doesnt make the team stronger, but weaker. nicole seah proves to be a young lady with drive and passion for the common folks. NSP for the win!

  • Shes totally awesome! I love listening to her, shes so calm and assuring!

  • yes it is true that wages are kept low so MNCs can proliferate into SG and setup shop here and employ even more lower wage workers. it's PAPA strategy and its typical of what most greedy Corporations yearn for.

  • Nicole -5 v Pei Ling- 0

  • Well said!

  • Please don't compare nicole with TPL. Nicole's in a class of her own. TPL is an embarrassment to watch.

  • @staphy82 Agreed with you! You made a statement just fair to Ms Nicole, you are a person voiced by justice.

Proud of a real lady we singaporeans have her, blessing to her united firmly with her folks moving to good futures base on justice and endeavours.

Brothers and Sister, Please send power to right persons we needed.

VOTE FOR CHANGE, VOTE FOR REBUILD

  • nicole seah should join the pap . she would become a member of parliament most definitely .

  • (cont.) Poverty raise social concerns. Lower purchasing power of citizens hampers the growth and productivity of the nation in the long run. So, since the welfare of the country is directly link to it, it is govt business, and thus policy issue.

  • (cont.) and saying that Nicole Seah needs to study political studies and philosophy is just wrong is so many levels. You mean to say anyone who study political studies and philosophy can run the country? Politicians are dealing with live breathing people not paper. I hope that you are not a by-product of the Singapore education system who are paper chase fanatics. Having paper qualifications or the knowledge is not everything, politicians should have the will and passion to serve the country.

  • @liauce, By far, the track record by PAP is that we have a stable and safe society with overwhelming influx of foreigners, steep rising of public housing prices, electrical bills and public transport rates, ministers saying insensitive things like “S$100 is like peanuts” when some people are earning S$400 per month. It also appears that the govt always start giving gimmicks days or weeks b4 election when they have the whole 5 yrs to do it. It makes me feel like a freaking donkey.

  • nicole seah is hawtttt <3 woot... anyway she answers her questions like she is ms singapore.

    :) very gddddd

  • i hope we can at least have 5 years of chio bu to represent singapore

  • She speaks from her heart, sincere and able to answer questions in calm and sensible manner. Really, a talented young person. She is honest with her answers and she is humble and sincere and humorous. An intelligent, brave and capable young lady. People will be able to relate to her.

It would be shame for our nation, if persons like her cannot get into parliament while others with lesser ability get in.

  • Media journalists asked stupid trivial questions. And they were all women too! Is this the current quality of women journalist that the media have to send our for assignments? Woeful and Nicole was so patient with them too!

  • She's actually pretty good!! I am pleasantly surprised after hearing crap from TPL. :D I actually do look up to her.

  • she is 2 yr younger than me yet she can speak so much more eloquently than i probably would be ever to in my life. so much maturity and confidence! i feel she needs more experience but i can definitely feel her passion and sincerity~ hope NSP wins!

  • I am actually quite pleasantly surprised how articulate Miss Nicole Seah is. Public speaking is not for anyone, she answered questions without pause and stammering. Very well done.

  • Watching Nicole Seah made me want to move to Marine Parade GRC just to vote for her

  • If this were a job interview for a middle management position, she would have probably aced it. Unfortunately politics is cruel and credentials matter. A lot, and all the time. Being a student leader or volunteer or eloquent just doesn't cut it. She will lose, but she will learn from this once-in-a-lifetime experience as well.

So, let's applause her effort. As least she dares to dream. Many of us have forgotten how to.

  • Refer to her talk 1.20 regarding visiting a house to find an old lady with a roof over her head but without food. She was angered at that point. Did she find out the root cause of the problem faced by the old lady? Where are her children, next of kin? Have they provided for her or are they abandoning her? Why angered? Was Nicole angry with the government for making the old lady suffer? I would be angry with the old lady's children for not being filial.

  • @lumufang

Why are you assuming that the old lady has relatives? Even if she has, what makes you think that the NOK(s) has the means to support her? I am very sure someone of Ms Seah's calibre would have clarified that with the old lady.

  • @Freedom2Defender

If nok(s) have no means to support her, refer her to a VWO.

We are known to be very generous when donating to charity shows

What I don't understand is why was she upset (angered was the word she used in another interview). She must be trying to evoke resentment in this category of pple.

If she is so easily angered, how is she going to carry herself if she is voted in.

The spewing of expletives during a traffic jam clearly shows she can't manage her emotions.

  • @lumufang Honey, she's human. Wouldn't you feel that way? Plus, if u've ever got a chance to see that kind of situation (which i have) you would be equally saddened and frustrated.

  • @lumufang Anger is a natural response to someone who has EMPATHY and as long as they know how to manage it and do something constructive with it. In my opinion, this is one of the most important prerequisite for someone who aspire to be a public servant. Did she do anything destructive other than saying that she was angry? I guess the emotion was probably due to the fact that the plight of the old lady wasnt highlighted by people who are paid to do their jobs.

  • @lumufang Only when one can stay true to their emotions can one stay true to the electorate. There is only a fine line between a hypocrite and someone who can seems to manage their emotions. I rather not take the risks of having a hypocrite to represent me in Parliament. She is as true as she seems, at least in my opinion.

Wouldnt you agree after seeing our minister, Dr Lim Boon Heng cry (sadness is also another form of emotion) on National TV?

  • @lumufang You dont understand why she was upset??? You never swear before??? Or are you one of the "get out of my elite uncaring face" person...

  • @witherwind33 Wee Shu Min, PAP scandal. Thanks for pointing it out. That is why PAP booted his father out this time around but market it as a retirement. Lies.

  • @lumufang The point isn't how easily she is angered but how calm she can keep when she is angered. oh, and I'm sorry, I pressed the vote up button by mistake when I was trying to reply.

  • She hit the nail with all her answers to those questions

Rarely could I find a 24 year girl who is so politically aware

Nicole and TPL are just like day and night

If they were in a straight SMC contest, Nicole would leave the PAP gal in the dust

PAP must be kicking themselves for not spotting her earlier.

  • @1349793 isnt that democracy? chaos is the order of the day

  • 24yrs old or 27 yrs both also too young and inexperienced to manage a constitution.Haven't even enter wedlock and manage their own family no wonder these 'kids' are not given SMCS.I cannot imagine myself being ruled by somebody's 'girlfriend','facebooker','iphone-games-player','clubber','swimsuit wearer'.$200 000 from taxpayers money is going to be paid to these 'kids' who want to try politics.

  • Not enough Singaporeans realise how prevalent poverty is in our country. Thumbs up.

  • Definitely NSP {Nicole Seah's Party}.

  • Well said Nichole. We have hope for our future. Flowers and plants grown up in the wild will live longer. On the other side, flowers grown up in the green house is difficult to survive in the real world. God bless Nichole.

  • She is fantastic! We need more of people like her who's unpretentious and practical. All the best to Nicole! Hip hip hooray!

  • I am proud of her courage and commitment. I am thankful and grateful of the education I received in Singapore. However, in Singapore, if you are not a scholar, you are nothing and will be deprived of any opportunity. Nicole will prove that she is, at least, has the same integrity and capability of selected elites to lead and serve Singapore and protect those vulnerable who fall through the cracks. I hope her party can stays the course by focusing on policies.

  • at least most of the stuff she said is clearly her beliefs and she speaks with sincerity. Jus watch those PAP introductory videos. Dat is call memorising scripts. they keep using the SAME sentence over and over again.

  • Nicole is good. A natural leader, I think she will go far. If not in this elections, then the next.

  • Nicole Seah is a fine example for standing up for something when she feels needs standing up. Come on young Singaporeans show Singapore that you care! Age is no barrier to politics.

  • Bravo, at 24, she is steady, mature and articulate. Singaporeans must be blind to vote that bimbo airhead Ting Pei Ling over her. So what if TPL is with Chok Tong. He should be gracious enough to step down.

  • Look, Goh Chok Tong may be 'likeable" but he is in his 70s. Why should he still be mentoring the PM and drawing $2 million. I like him, make no mistake. But he should have the graciousness to step down. China's great Deng Xiao Ping stepped down graciously, so why not some of these PAP old guard?

  • @xurumeng: Incentives for the Ministers are too attractive for them to step-down. PAP need some healthy competition to keep themselves functioning.

  • fuck tin pei ling...doesn't look like one, doesn't act like one. she looks like some primary school girl who cares for the old...

now compare to this even younger woman! nicole seah is so much more matured and so much more intelligent. looks like one, acts like one.

should have a SMC battle...nicole seah confirm win!

  • Well done Nicole Seah! Can see that she is candid, honest about her faults. Acts on her beliefs! We need such qualities in an MP. If I am in Marine Parade, I would seriously consider voting her in!

  • LOL! the 3 dislikes on this video are: Tin Pei Ling, Goh CT and LHL. hahahaaa!!

  • @kamal7911 Serious? I didn't bother checking though... LOL

  • Nicole Seah > Tin Pei Ling

  • WOW. She is awesome. The points she raised are very down to earth and salient. It's excellent to have such opposition in Singapore! :) wishing her all the best!

  • for those who mentioned about memorised speech..even if she did memorised, at least she made an effort to.. rather than tpl who just blabber without using her brains..well, i think PAP will still win Marine Parade GRC..becos of goh chok tong.. TPL is a national joke.. shes just a smarter and uglier version of ris low

  • @babyloveprincess

Goh Meng Seng (NSP SG) emphasised in the press conference he will hold Goh Chok Tong accountable for the policies that were introduced during his time as Prime Minister, specifically the "Asset Enhancement Policy" that continues to harm Singapore. The minister-specific strategy of NSP to contest Tampines GRC (Mah Bow Tan) & Marine Parade GRC (Goh Chok Tong), serves to hold these 2 inept ministers answerable for their toxic housing policies.

  • @babyloveprincess

honestly, Nicole's team in Marine Parade is just not strong enough to take down SM Goh AND BG Tan Chuan Jin. BG Tan is amazing. what pisses me off is tt TPL wld be in Parliament when Nicole Seah wldn't, when Nicole Seah is clearly the better candidate.

  • Do something about it- Put your Vote where it will matter- do not presume what the ground will vote- Go for the unknown - take the chance and get rid of this BG Tan Chuan...., really question what is his contribution to Singapore- if he has done nothing- he does not deserve your vote- be daring- this election will be a watershed election. Vote for someone that will make a difference and is willing to fight for on- not someone riding on the coat tails of 3 others.

  • @ijustretired

erm... BG Tan has done nothing for Singapore? are you sure? i dare say that his contribution to Singapore is more than almost, if not all, of the opposition candidates. and i certainly think tt BG Tan will make a positive difference, more so than any of the NSP candidates contesting in Marine Parade GRC.

BG Tan Chuan Jin more than deserves being in Parliament and the Cabinet (ask the men he commanded. i'm sure most will agree with me). my gripe is only with Tin Pei Ling,

  • @ijustretired

ijustretired asked me to justify tt "this BG guy has done a lot" and convince his family to vote for PAP. firstly. i don't know why i shd convince his family to vote for anyone. tt's the job of the political parties. secondly, i wonder what the NSP has done for his family, or for any families in Marine Parade for tt matter.

  • @ijustretired

and while i agree tt BG Tan may not have done anything for any individual or individual family, can anyone deny his contribution to S'pore? ask those he commanded as CO 3rd Div, or those he led into Meluboh, Aceh, or the ppl who enjoyed and maybe were even inspired by NDP 2009. aren't those contributions to S'pore? what has the NSP team done over the last few years? how hv they contributed to S'pore? gd as Nicole is, how has she contributed to S'pore before this GE season?

  • @babyloveprincess Even if it's true, I kinda doubt she's (Nicole) the only one to memorise speeches.. But I agree that the odds are kind of stacked against her.

  • A new face, a new voice, with good linguistic skills but with no real experience in the society. Are you going to vote for a NUS fresh grad that has learned so much from the books?

  • Advertising.... no wonder.

  • Like her. Has an air of maturity. Doesn't look like she needs any trauma specialist.

  • ...no offence TPL, it is clearly who can best represent GEN Y... I hope Marine Parade residents support Nicole Seah...best wishes...

  • OMG SHE DAMN ZAI (Y) I'll support her~

  • Down to earth! Sweet! Salute her answers because of her sincerity!

  • Too bad I dont live in Macpherson or I'd vote for you...

  • How come she didn't put heavy make-up like Ms Tin?

  • @sydneywhz ermm...cos she more chio, no? :P

  • @coolfire77 Ya that's my point actually. I am pointing out that Kate Spade needs tonnes of make-up but I didn't want to make it so explicit..

  • @sydneywhz yup mate, i was merely being sarcastic... Cheers! :)

  • @sydneywhz Ahh...A metaphorical yet literal post. I love it!

  • @sydneywhz omg look at tpl makeup so thick so disgusting

  • Nicole, if you are reading these comments... Good Job. I really really hope NSP will win the majority votes. We need good down-to-earth people who are passionate about their cause. the political road may be tough... but I really hope you would not give up

  • definitely a better MP than that TPL... I'll vote for her if I stay in the GRC where she is contesting..

  • very good responses to the questions asked by reporters.

    replies are thoughtful and mature.

age is definitely not a liability in this case.

    go Nicole Seah!!!

    you have my vote!

  • She looks sincere, straightforward and has good comprehension skills (many MP can't answer questions to the point)

  • Very level headed, grounded and intelligent young lady. Definitely a member of parliament material. Hope NSP will win the Marine Parade GRC.

  • @onigiri59 All the more we should be afraid. She is eloquent and has won so many to her side without even holding any office. History has proven that such people are dangerous. She claims she can understand Singaporeans, especially the young. Look how many percent of Singaporeans are graduates or go to the top 5 JC? and is the problem of poverty really a policy issue?

  • (cont) Maybe she needs to study political studies and philosophy instead. That said, she is likeable. However, don't vote for people who are likeable but have no substance. Substance is determined by track record, prove and character. Some may want to give her a chance to shine. I'd rather not take that risk.

  • gd luck:)

  • POLL: Singapore Election 2011

This 2011 election is definitely a watershed. Who will win this election?

    Cast your precious vote at this poll: h*t t *p : //bit*ly/sg2011election

... Please help to spread this poll and Save the link to see the final result of this poll on 7th May.

  • Who said young Singaporeans are politically apathetic?! Nicole Seah is a fine example for standing up for something when she feels needs standing up. Come on young Singaporeans show Singapore that you care!

  • Go Nicole go! Do Singapore proud!

    We are behind you!

  • As she said, there are people who fell through the cracks and she wants to help these people. It's obviously with good intentions and can benefit those of lower SES. But as she also mentioned, PAP's policy generally benefit most of the Singaporeans. So if she were to focus more on those unfairly treated, she wouldn't really be helping the majority right? I must applaud her for her good responses that came sounded natural and sincere.

  • why she keep looking down? got script?

  • @scorpioo yeah why don't you stare at a reporter straight in the eye for minutes continuously when answering a question. Come up with better arguments.

  • @Livermann I'm not saying that looking away is not alright. It's just that when she look down on the table (esp at the start) every once in a while, looks like there's some script there. I can see that sometimes she's thinking, but sometimes it really look like there's some script there. And no, I'm not using this as an argument against her. As I said, I think her speech is good.

  • Azmidasimin. I don't see how u can conclude that she is resentful (of what?). We should be grateful that now we have intelligent young people who are NOT politically apathetic coming forward to speak out for the less fortunate.

  • Very smooth! Tricky questions well tackled. Makings of a good politician. So good in fact that I'm a little wary.

  • She is clear in her thoughts and expression and her sincerity comes through without inhibition. She is totally at ease in the public eye and adept at answering questions thrown at her. To me those are essential qualities deserving enough for us to consider her for parliament. A person so young, yet so passionate...it shows. I am proud we have someone like you to speak for us. I wish you well, Nicole and you have my utmost respect.

  • Would you rather a quiet and resentful person, or a loud and ignorant person? I think her being resentful is not a bad quality at all. It is one that when toned with wisdom, will drive her to fight for Singaporean's rights as it is clear that what she resents is the injustice done to singaporeans.

  • She is a quiet and resentful person

  • @ckhoong186 exactly. her talk of going door to door is way smarter than TPL's responses.

  • @ImJustOneSingaporean You do not realize how all these talk on risk of failing is damaging for Singapore. They'd rather entrust everything(CPF,HOUSING,POPULATION,EDUCATION ETC) to PAP. Move away from such mindsets. Singapore will never move forward or think out of the box to bring the country forward with such mindsets. Stop underestimating Singaporeans, especially the younger generation. You and I have more then what it takes. Is there absolutely no risk of the PAP failing one day?

  • Singaporeans failure to have a flexible mindset and refusal to take risk, building up a more resilient Singapore in the process will end up failing ultimately. Embrace the courage to try new things, learn, and fine-tune from the process. Stop being taken in by PAP amd MSM's rhetoric that Singapore cannot afford to fail. Singaporeans will decide for themselves. Better fail and learn now then wait for PAP to fail or pray for it to not fail. Singapore belongs to Singaporeans not the PAP.

  • definitely a prepared speech. though not memorised!

  • SHE DOES KNOW HOW TO SPEAK. AWESOME. CAME AT JUST THE RIGHT TIME AFTER TPL MADE A HOOHA
