Okay, I don't see what you guys are complaining about. I've never done anything like these card cut things before and yet, this is easy at least to me. I did it correctly with him as he was explaining it the third time i watched. So i'd say i'm learning quickly. Either I'm a natural or this is a really good tutorial.... That or i'm just extremely familure (spell fail) with the way cards feel in my hand.
Little thing I find easier, is rather than when you switch fingers to each of the 3 packets in the right, if on the first move right at the beginning when you make a Z, use your right ring finger to pick up the top packet then split with your right middle finger...then all the packets are already in the right place. Good luck!
@LoverOfEm0 Okay, so I'm looking at 1:57. The top packet is held by the middle finger and thumb, while the lower packet is held by the ring finger and thumb. Your left thumb should not be applying too much pressure. Rather, it just keeps the packet from moving around too much as the right hand slides the lower packet away. Does that help?
Haaa I'm so bad at it! For me, he could have just shown the trick like he did at the beginning, and then say: "To do it, you just basically do the trick," and I would have failed in exactly the same way..
@darkstar738 It's not too difficult... I've been practicing for about one day.. and I can perform it pretty damn well. Except the part where I have to grab the top deck O.o. The cards just fall out when I try to do it.
@123drdre321 Oh, yeah, that's true. That's why it's called a "retention cut". You "retain" part of the deck, in this case the top and bottom packets. If everything stayed in the same order I would've called it a false cut.
(It bothers me when people call retention cuts false cuts.)
@MrTodex They're "Bee Wynns" because they were made by Bee for the Wynn Casino. I got them from a friend, who got them off of Theory 11 (I think) while they were still on sale. Now they are in limited supply and not sold except for maybe on eBay or something. I'm in possession of 5 or so, sealed.
I almost got it but what's really weird is that you don't start with a mechanic grip where the thumb is on the left side... but you do it with the thumb on the bottom (not like the sybil start)
Yes. That's because one of the first flourishes I tried to attempt to learn started like this. Back then I thought this was the only grip you could use for a flourish. That's why this and the FanKut begin like so.
yeah this is a great movie i just downloaded it in HD at spam(dot)com! Lol jk nice tutorial but i keep dropping all the cards and getting pissed of...
If you like someone's videos, you subscribe to them. Anytime a person you subscribe to makes a new video, you'll know because it'll appear on your homepage in a little subscriptions box. That way you're up to date, instead of having to check people's channels all the time.
I have a computer on a desk that has shelves just above it. I take a standard webcam and clip it to the end of the shelf so that it's facing down on the desk. Then I make the video upside-down and mirrored so that it's in total 1st person.
Damn!!! that was smooth!! Hey look man I take back what I said about you with woody but since I'm a fan of him when said that it kind of offended me. Sorry.
this is the first cut ive learned sooo many thanks :))

I'm having trouble 'clipping' the top deck... It doesn't work for me. I can get a few cards to go, but not the entire deck.... Assistance please?

@darkstar738 How is it hard? All i knew how to do was shuffle cards and i've got this one down in only a few hours. Patience is the key.

@razzimagic I've considered it, but this is one of my most-viewed videos and I think it's because it has the word "beginner's" in the title.
ArtsInfinity 1 year ago
@razzimagic Yeah, that's why the title says "by Ayrus."
