  • Happy Birthday Dar! (April 19, 1967)

  • i love it! shows the problems for a young womens independence and education back in the past

plus its just damn cute :) *i cant wait to give her the card, i cant wait to give her the card*

  • I like it. To the max.

  • your an idiot

  • Most of these songs are set in the 70's. Thats the sort of thing they did back then.

  • @spotdathief You see, the greatness of this song is that it simultaneously expresses a child's perception of her teenage babysitter and the teenager's feelings about her own growing up experiences. So it is written in the language a child uses. The lyrics aren't horrible, they fit with the fact that the song is written from the perspective of a kid.

  • first heard this song at GRP, and seven years later, hearing it still brings me back to that place.

  • The sang this at my camp, too, LOL. Right before bed sometimes.

  • My fifth grade teacher sang would sing us this song with her guitar. T_T I want to be a kid again.

    2) its true i just got back from session 4 ranch camp. we sang it a LOT and rowan and peaches learned the chords on their guitars while we were on our overnight. it was really funny but nice. i also got homesick and this song made me cry and then i felt a lot better. i was great.

  • This is such an awesome song! This and "When I Was A Boy" are my two favorite Dar Williams' songs. That final verse chokes me up every time.
