In fact, you can't "show" a persian cat without a long coat. You can trim their coat or give them a lion cut, but this is all for fun- not necessary. Also, most people who are allergic to cats are allergic to a cats' dander, which is usually from an unwashed cat. Bathing your cat every two weeks (such as this boy and most Persians) will help rid the dander.

@iLuvCookiez99 Hey there! I don't know why they are insulting my cat either! Guess they have nothing better to do! : D To promote hair growth, you have to brush in the opposite direction of their coat. Most of it is genetics though. Good luck!
@TheAviationCenter YES, they lose their full coat in the summer! Hair is everywhere! There is a common saying amongst owners of these cats.... "If you don't like hair as a condiment to your food, don't buy a Persian!" Usually in the summer, I give him a "Lion Cut" and this helps SO MUCH with their shedding. Hope this helps and good luck!
