I have never seen frog eating another animal, I always tought that all the frogs eats bugs. plancton and tad poles. And I got curious:

1: How big animals they can eat?

2: What happens to the bones and fur? Do they melt too or does frog puke them out?

3: In youtube most of the pacman frog owners feed their frog with live mice. Why?

Many pixie and pac man frogs do eat 'large stuff' or anything that moves in the wild such as small mammals (mice, voles etc.), reptiles, large insects (eg. centipedes) and sometimes even their own species! Since they can get quite large they need all the nutrition they can get.

I honestly don't even get why people would want such ugly things like these as pets in the first place. The least they could do is be humane about it. And it's disgusting when I see species that isn't even supposed to eat animals with bones etc. I still don't get why they can't just eat pre-packaged meat, or atleast ones that are already dead.

@pippy1994 As much as it sucks pippy1994 these creatures were designed to survive on live prey. The chances of them finding dead animals to eat in the wild are slim to none. The only way to ensure these little mice are not set up for such a cruel end in a captive toads aquarium or tank is for people not to have these toads as pets.

Non poisonous snakes only swallow live prey as well. It is just the way of nature. As sad as it is.

If YOU had one as a pet and were to feed crickets to it, you would have to buy quite alot every week to keep a sufficient enough diet for the pixie/pacman frog. But if you were to feed it mice or larger insects, you wouldn't have to feed it more frequently than feeding it crickets which would reduce food cost.
