Nice Video, very nice countryside and love the sound of your VW Camper. I had a 1977 with the 2000 CC EFI engine in Canada. I had to use the same techniques while climbing hills, revs up and keep inside the torque band. Mine had more power on high moisture days. Miss my camper! Have fun.
@josegmarinr Thanks for the nice comments! I know I'd miss mine terribly if I ever sold it (owned for 13 years now), but the price of petrol (gas) here in the UK means I can no longer really afford to run it :-(
@propwash365 Haha, yes, not sure who's right and who's wrong, but we get a shock every time we drive in mainland Europe! Glad you liked the vid, I'm sure I'll be making more come Spring when the bus comes out of hibernation.
She a sweet sounded old lady. Its good to see that she gets used and not just a showpiece. I also like the airconditioning fan on the dashboard. You should have give us a call and we could have had a drink somewhere even drop in on me as you was passing. I didnt recognise the start point. ?
@morrisminormods Thanks Mick, sorry I didn't think to give you a shout, I think the footy was on at the time which is why the roads were deserted.
As for the bus, she's certainly no show piece LOL. We've been together over 12 years now, clocking > 45000 miles - most of them on Continental tours. If it weren't for the price of petrol she'd get used a whole lot more.
The start point was Pipwell, I accidentally deleted the Middleton/Cottingham section which put things out of context a bit.
@steamwally Thanks Pill, the Welland valley is a particularly beautiful area but we tend keep it a secret and let the tourists go to the Cotswolds ;-)
You can't beat a proper camera mount for shots like these, rock steady shots makes for much better viewing. nice countryside too. You need to throw in some random camera angles now to complete the whole effect.
@Bevoin1970 Thanks for the comment, quite pleased with the camera mount - only cost £3.49 inc P&P from HK. Using a digi stills camera at the moment, but on the lookout for an HD camcorder and decent editing SW. Your own vids are a good benchmark for me to aim for!
@enpeemac I bought mine on a whim one night while the missus was watching QVC shopping channel. Its a Panasonic HD Camcorder and records to a memory card.
The camera was on a QVC Todays Special Value and cost me a tad over £300 on 3 easy payments - Best thing I ever bought, I've had so much fun using it hence some of the stuff I post on YT. Its all a learning curve and experimentation as you go.
Im honoured you see mine as a benchmark - Thanks :-) Thats a nice comment.
Your on the wrong side of the road!
