Ian Tyson and Johnny Cash = unforgettable. Did they ever sing together? Both have/had voices that changed and deepened later in their lives, but just got better in some ways. Love this version of Johnny singing one of Ian's best songs. We're lucky to have had both of them.

This was one of the first songs I played on my guitar early 60's in Vietnam. I'm 64 and still can't get through it without a frog caught in my throat. I was fortunate to see Ian and Sylvia at the Golden Bear in Newport Beach, CA between stints in Vietnam. I'm blessed. The song takes on new dimensions and meaning when older ears hear it from Mr. Cash close to the end of the last camp fire. Thank you.
