i think you did a very nice job!

this is my favorite track on the album. while i appreciate they're new style, i think their new producers rubbed off on them maybe a little too much. tracks like "call if off" and "burn your life down" are the few ones that reflect their former pop edge. the album on a whole however shows a great deal of growth as artists. it's a great album, but it's now what i was expecting.

Tegan and Sara have both said that they wanted to go into this direction. They wanted a grittier album that sounded more like the demos they were recording at home. I'm pretty sure they co-produced the album with Chris Walla, so they probably had the final say on everything. To me The Con is on the same level as If It Was You, and both are above So Jealous (in my opinion).
