  • I watched alot of other people sing this song and I gotta say you all do it the best!!! Wonderful job. I can watch this over and over again. Thank You.

  • This is beautiful.

  • I was looking for a Grateful dead song and stumbled into this - I had forgotten how much I like this hymn - nice performance too.

  • @amic1999 Hallelujah! Thanks.

  • Great rendition. Such a beautiful song. You all sound wonderful.

  • Fantastic!!! I've been coming back to this video regularly for the past 3 years. This is a tremendously powerful song that this group wonderful young people has done a complete justice on. Thank You for posting

  • this song along with "holy holy holy" are my favorite christian songs! god bless you!!

  • Any song lifted and praised unto the Lord is worthwhile in his favor(Ecclesiastes).

Well done, and an important message in this day of darkness.

  • Really, really well done!

  • I'm not a Christian, yet I love your singing. This song especially! You all have a gift. May you always use it to comfort and uplift others.

  • very well done!

  • This has to be the most beautiful rendition of this hymn I have ever heard. It makes me cry to listen to such pure spirit coming through your voces. I was searching for something to lift me and came aross your ideo. God truly guided me tonight to hear His word through your beautiful voices. God bless you all.

  • i absolutely love each and every one of your songs! Your group certainly does well in praising our Lord!!! Beautiful....Great Job!!!!!!

  • This is beautifully done. Those that criticize it are the same as the "Pharisees" who criticized Jesus for challenging the established rule.

Always remember Jesus came to save all who would hear his message. And the "ESTABLISHMENT" didnt hear him. Everyone else (the forgotten, the rebellious, the sinful) are the ones who accepted him. Not "The Religious"

  • Beautiful!

  • this is probably the best version I have seen/heard on youtube.

  • One of my favorite songs from church. I've been looking for a version that wasn't so old and stuffy sounding. This was great! Well done, thank you!

  • I love this hymn. This is how I found your group on Youtube and I think you do a beautiful job with all of the hymns you sing.

  • Praise God! Thank you for your kind heart.

  • Every time I listen and view this video it makes me cry. The song is so beautiful and done so well. Thank you so much and God bless.

  • i like the way you perform the songs

  • Beautifully done! God Bless You!

  • One More thing If you claim to be Christian then have some compassion. These people do it because they love God and want to proclaim his word thru song.

  • There is nothing perverse about it only you see it with blinders on. Quit while you're ahead because the others that do like would appreciate it if you have nothing better to say then just leave. One more thing You do not like it..admit it now and we can go on from there. There is nothing sinful about it. I hope you will be adult about it and just leave them be.

  • Of course I don't like it. I don't like it because it's objectively sinful and sacrilegious.

  • Oh Really? Just because you do not like it does not mean that it is sinful and sacrilegious. You are one of those that twists things around just for your views only.

  • why do you have to come in every one of these videos and have to not even give constructive criticism?

  • Awesome job guys! This is my favorite hymn and I love listening to you sing it.

  • This song is EXCELLENT. They sound a helluva lot better than my school choir, and alot of other school choirs i've heard : )

  • Baratone2005. I was thinking the same thing. Ive viewed dozens of this groups hymns and none come more naturally to them than this one. I was completely charmed by how much they were enjoying this. The organist and director are completely enjoying the moment. The soloists are absolutely stunning. This is NOT an easy solo. Theres a quiet confidence about this choir that is irresistible. I cant stop watching this video.

  • ANG SARAP SA TENGA PAKINGGAN!

  • this is one of my favorite psalms...God Bless You and all you do...

  • Beautiful arrangements and harmonies!Chanced upon your version of Bernadette Farrell's "Christ, Be Our Light" and it stirred me. That led me to this. The charism of your choir is clearly evident because tears of healing flowed out of my eyes immediately. You are true music ministers, praising God in word and song. God bless you all!

  • I've been listening to few of the songs you have posted on here and I have to say you rock. I would love for this choir to come to Texas. I'd even love to join to if I could.

  • Praise God and thank you for liking our style. We would like to go to Texas if God is willing and will provide. You are also welcome to join us if you move to the Los Angeles area. We will praise God together.

  • Love your version of this lovely and powerful Psalm--you said you'd like "to go to Texas"...where in Texas? I'm in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and would travel to hear your beautiful choir.

  • My mother passed away in May 2008. This is one of the best versions I have heard. It brings a literal tear to my eyes. RIP: TBA - May 7, 2008. I love you Mom.

  • this was played at my grandfather's funeral and i have to say that this is the best version i've heard so far..

It's so pretty. My grandpa died about 4 months ago. It speaks, this song...

  • Great, but I wish it had the fifth verse too!

  • Wonderful song. Was played at my mom-in-laws funeral. What a beautiful version.

  • I always loved this song and loved singing it. Love the harmony in this! Great Job!

  • Anybody heard the John Michael Talbot version? It's incredible.

  • Look in any Catholic Hymnal! Title: Shepherd Me, O God.

It's another version the 23rd Psalm.

  • can you post some lyrics? i love this song! thank you! ^^

  • When I was in a catholic high school, this song always brought me closer to God and my faith. This may sound crazy being that I am only 30 y/o but, I want this song played at my funeral... By, chance does anyone know where I can find another song named, "Your love is finer than life" I went something like this: Oh God I seek you my soul thirst for you, your love is finer than life..." I'm pretty sure that's how it went. This is another favorite of mine.

  • Played this song at my husband's funeral ... he was killed in Iraq a year ago...

    Csilla

  • God bless you, I'm so sorry about your husband!

I direct funerals, and this is a favorite for the responsorial Psalm-it's the 23rd.

I want it for my funeral also.

  • Sorry to hear that. Absence from the body, presence with the Lord! There is no greater love than to give yourself for others sake.

  • badass song

  • Hopefully, that means good, so God will be pleased.

  • it means more than good, like awesome.

  • Beautiful !! This was sung at my mother in laws funeral. Brings tears.

  • This song is actually created from Psalm 23, but many people has sung it. One singer is Marty Haugen, but there are many more.

  • Very good. Who wrote the song? where did it come from?

  • I would love to add some strings and horns. Where was this video shot?

  • Sure, you can improve the orchestration of this song to make it more interesting musically. Here, we used a 2nd keyboard for strings and other instruments but it was not picked up by the camera mike. Anyway, this was our first generation videos when the DV cameras were new in the market.

The mass was California Junior Academic Decathlon mass for 100 So. Ca schools at the Loyola Marymount Auditorium.

  • My compliments to all. I stumbled across your video. I came home from mass and had to Google the song. Now I want to video my choir and get it out there. For some reason I am truly HOOKED on the song. Good luck and keep up the good work!

  • The lyrics was based on Psalm 23. The composer of music is Marty Haugen. It is a very popular Catholic responsorial psalm and I arranged it with a little pop influence that so that the young church goers can relay to it more. Oftentimes, the styles in most Catholic churches are not like this.

  • Marty Haugen, based on Psalm 23. It's my favorite version of this Psalm. =^..^=

  • love the harmonies.

Soloists are awesome and i just love this song.

  • Beautiful!

  • I love this psalm
