I saw Tori play this at Glasgow last week with just her Bosendorfer and the string quartet she is currently touring with and I was absolutely amazed at how good she can do this song acoustically and with no bass or drums...awesome!

@ProfessionalWidow83 I just hope Tori releases a live DVD of her tour. I am not sure why Tori does not release more DVD's as there are lots of great gigs here on You Tube that need releasing. I saw her in Berlin a few weeks before Glasgow and it was a very different setlist, not many artists that do that.

First time I heard this vrsion and it's freaking awesome. I'm speechless. They all work together so well to bring about amazing music while having fun doing it. Tori's performance and the style of this version was absolutely great. The only complaint I would have is having to see the bassist and drummer on a few occasions. The cheesy grins and expression on their faces was the only thing that took me out of the song. Taking the lyrics and overall haunting mood of "Blood Roses" into consideration, I found it out of place. Like they were playing in a wedding band and having too much fun ... maybe it's just me.

For all intents and purposes, they are just having fun playing such rad music. No matter what the song (or any else) represents, they aren't obliged to keep somber expressions when a listener/viewer feels they should. They are musicians, for crying out loud, who enjoy their work.

At 47 I dont think Tori has the energy to perform like this anymore - especially if the last tour was anything to go by.( Plus the botox wouldn't allow it) She is still amazing though and I never tire of hearing or seeing her - no other female singer songwriter has matched her! i agree. the '99 tour was the last of this kind. i liked the SLG and SW tours, but they were much more tame, they worked in a much different way. ADP came nowhere near to the fire of these performances. i'm really loving a lot of AATS, but i may skip the live show this time around.
