  • i think this is really great because sharpening would seem harder and plus, when you do sharpen, you waste some of the product and this method doesnt!

  • Looks GROSS coming out, but a very useful tip. thanks lol

  • @Muslolyic What happened!?

  • @Muslolyic Well obviously she didn't ruin your Nyx pencil, you did. This video (like many other depot videos) are meant to show you the basic 'melting' technique; she's not responsible if your blow dryer is too hot or too cold. Besides, a technique like this is really trial and error based- work with different heat settings if you have them or distance your blow dryer from the pencil. These pencils are extremely cheap so there's no point getting upset over a product that you can easily replace.

  • @MissNoirNoir I'm not upset. Ok they are cheap but I can not '' easily replace it '' because I live in Belgium and I have to order Nyx products from USA so no they are not easy to replace for me but thanks for your so useful comment...

  • @Muslolyic if you DID NOT SUCCESS, DONT BLAME IT ON HER. YOU'RE AN UNGRATEFUL BITCH.

  • @XXgirlypeaceXX HAHA :) Go kill yourself.

  • @Muslolyic seriously, you have NO LIFE. i tried this and it worked for me. so it's your fault. and why will i kill myself? i mean only dumb people will kill themselves. people who are EVEN MORE DUMB will tell others to kill themselves :D

  • @XXgirlypeaceXX People who insult other people behind a computer worth nothing so you can go kill yourself it's not a big loss :) Ok you don't know me so if you are happy by telling me I have no life without knowing anything in my life OK I have no life you happy now ? stop answer me it pollutes my inbox thank you :)

  • @Muslolyic did I insult you? seriously, did I? you're the one who worth NOTHING. you should at least say thanks to the people who spent time on making this video for YOU VIEWERS, how mean and ungrateful can you be? I didnt insult you, but imao Insulting people with no brains is not a big deal at all. If you dislike me for telling the TRUTH, why the fuck do you have to spend time on replying me :)?

  • @Muslolyic how did it get ruined?

  • @Muslolyic you did it, not her. You never had to try to depot it.

  • @Muslolyic wait what happened?

  • @Muslolyic Not her fault you messed up depoting the pencil.

  • @Muslolyic What went wrong?

  • I just tried this, but unfortunately it didn't work out nicely at all for me. My blow dryer must be getting way too hot cause the actual pencil started melting at about the same time the product started to come out. I ended up having to squeeze out the product from the half-molten pencil... :/

  • I'm totally depoting all my pencils today. sooo excited. thanks for the tutorial.

  • Does it work the same if the pencil is plastic or wood? i know some come in plastic

  • BRILLIANT! But the adolescent in me started laughing when it came out of the pencil. It looked gross. :-)

  • Thanks so much for the tip! I have a hard time sharpening mine too :) so I might try it out!!!

  • Just did this, it only took like 5 minutes of having the blow dryer right on the pencil to make it work. Thanks girl!

  • Do the Nyx jumbo pencils work as eyeliner on your waterline?? Btw great video!!

  • OMG you are so smart thanks for this cook trick. Because I swear I just could not. Sharpen those jumbo pencil without damaging the shadow.

  • i dont know why but mine refused to come out nicely. it just didnt flow out like yours did. how long did you put it under the heat for? i had mine for a good 20-30 mins and it still didnt come out. ):

  • also i had my dryer on high heat and the little bit of product that came out was all liquid droplets. so it couldnt be the dryer. could someone tell me why? im so frustrated by it.. ))):

  • @xuelijasmine Your blow dryer isn't getting hot enough it seems.

  • wow that is so cool

  • can i buy jars at like walmart or something?

  • Where can I get the jars from?

  • Great tip!!! But, after depot the pencil, can i use it as a cream shadow then?

I am about to depot my pencils...but bit worried it might change the consistency of creaminess.

  • @eriloveseri The consistency stays exactly the same. You could use them as eyeshadows whether they're in the stick form or pot, but I find they crease if you don't set with powder or a light dusting of regular eyeshadow.

  • Wow! AWSOME! I didn't know you could do that! Thanks! Subscribing!

  • does it dry out in the pot?

  • @craziiditz411 Nope, mine have been depotted for over a year now and they're still great.

  • @craziiditz411 they wont dry out in the pot unless its a plastic pot. that is why mac uses glass jars for theyre paint pots. so yea make sure to use GLASS jars/pots! hope that helped!

  • I don't have to pull off the back plastic cap of my Nyx jumbo eye pencil because it came broken with the glue undone and fallen off when it arrived in the mail lol -.-

  • i just tried the blowdryer method on one of my nyx jumbo pencils and it took around 20 minutes to see any movement and a lot of it refused to come out. How long does it usually take?

  • @facesofmeth It sounds like your blow dryer isn't getting hot enough. It should only take a few minutes and then it should all completely melt out.

  • @glintzy yeah i switched to a different one and it only took like 3 minutes for each pencil. haha I guess the first dryer sucked

  • I didn't even know you could do this, thanks! :)

  • I did not know that you could depot pencils...Awesome! Cause I despise the nyx pencil design

  • looks nasty T_T haha :) THANKS

  • Hey, You may of mentioned it in the video but where is the jar from?

  • It looks like poop... Lol

  • Best demo I have seen! Thx

  • so helpful, thanks!

  • where do you get jars?

  • jars of pickles lol

  • That's awesome!

  • the ones i bought are plastic at the top instead of wood...how would i sharpen it at all ?!

  • @melrocks123 you'd tiwist or push the top

  • this was so helpful thanks alot :)

  • Sooooooo cooooooooooooooool to watch !!!!

  • I didn't know MAC gave out samples...

  • For it to cool off do you just set it out? or would you put it in the fridge?

  • it loos like poop

  • im confused. nyx jumbo pencils are plastic arent they? how could i sharpen it to get the rest of the product. cuz i use them as liners not as bases? please help, i am in desperate need!!! and i dont know you to get the rest of the product out!!! :(

  • @FallenAngel464 It's some sort of plastic wood mix or other synthetic. You can sharpen it like any other eyeliner if you can find one it will fit into. Nyx does sell one that fits, and other brands may carry one large enough they're just a pain to find.

  • @glintzy omigosh thank you so much!!!!

  • @glintzy they sell really big ones that fit at the body shop :D 5.50 in canada

  • @glintzy revlon does

  • @FallenAngel464 if you don't wanna depot it like this, i found a sharpener from ulta that is big enough it is an ulta brand sharpener :)

  • @jihaex7954 oh cool! but i JUST might have a sharpener that is big enough....i think. :)

  • @FallenAngel464 You could always use this method and then use an angled eyeliner brush to line your eyes.. It would make a much neater line AND you don't have to go and spend five dollars on nyx's sharpener.

  • @FallenAngel464 they make pencils sharpeners for a smaller hole and bigger hole just get one of those their pretty cheap...works just fine to sharpen it...good luck

  • You have the best depot-ing video, thanks so much!

  • That's a pretty cool method, but kinda gross cause the pencil looks like it's pooping in the jar...

  • After the lid on my Milk pencil cracked from traveling, this seems like a perfect option. Do these last as long after being depotted?

Thank you for making this video :)

  • @ninj4sugarbyte As long as the lid on your little jar fits securely it will last just as long as it would in pencil form.

  • @glintzy Good to know, thank you!

I followed your tutorial today but my result was messy... it didn't come out into one nice piece like yours did.. there was a lot left on the insides of the tube. I don't have the best hair dryer too so maybe that doesn't help :P

  • If your hair dryer doesnt work right, put the jar in the bottom of a microwave-safe mug, take the end off the pencil, put the pencil in the mug so the tip is in the jar, and nuke for 10 seconds at a time until it's melted and comes out of the pencil. Take out the pencil, let it cool inside the mug and then tip it out when it solidifies again.

Not as clean as this method, as the tip of the pencil ends up being dipped in the melted stuff, but it works!

  • hard to sharpen? just buy a proper sharpener if you only depot them for that reason, otherwise that is a nice tutorial :)

  • @Xezbethnovitch I would depot them because when you sharpen you lose some product in the shavings.

  • Great video!

  • it looks like poop

  • Awesome!! I will definitely be trying this! Thank you so much for sharing!! Xx

  • this made me wanna get a nyx pencil, just to do that.

  • I have mac pait pots but noticed dry what i do

  • You can get jars at coastal scents(: They have alot of kinds. If you get ten 5 grams jars its only 4$

  • where do you get the jars from and for how much?

  • That seems really easy

But it looks kind of gross lolz

  • how long was the whole process?

  • Is the jar plastic? or glass?

  • @tclove100 Mine is plastic.

  • can u suggest another idea beside using hair dryer since my hair dryer was broken i can't use it :(

how about flat iron? can it be used to replace hair dryer?

sorry if its a silly question :(

  • @cutepuppiers I don't think a flat iron would be a good option since you'd need to get it so close or touching the outside of the pencil. I'd think you could create a melty mess if the paint on the outside gets sticky.

  • @cutepuppiers Umm actually Put it in the Microwave for 1:00 minute! it works :D

  • where do you get your jars from

  • @BabeeGirl1994 hers were from mac, but you can get small ones from sally's for pocket change

  • @iiLulu10 thanks so much!

  • @BabeeGirl1994 no prob, and actually the sally's one's are $2.99 for basically the one jar you need, so i'd suggest the ultimate beauty travel pack from walmart which comes w/ about three perfect size jars and 3 bigger jars or just go to coastal scents and get as many small ones as you need

  • @iiLulu10 thx!

  • @birthhodgson you can also find NYX Cosmetics products if you have a store name "Amuse" near you, check your mall

  • This was soo helpful! thank you very much :)

  • lol i LOVE the sound at 1:56-1:57 when you unscrew the lid of the pot!

  • Will this also work with pencil-eyeliners

  • this was the best idea yet. I have not wanted to try these pencils because of it being in a pencil form, but thanks to you i am going to de-pot them now!

  • I was like " what? depot a pencil? no way!" but wow, I LOVE this idea!!! i refrained from buying these pencils cuz they seem so annoying to apply, but in a jar we can use a brush or finger! so much better=) Thanks!

  • NYX is coming to germany on january 2011-

firstly I felt happy about that- but when I learned about the conditions... :(

one jumbo eye pencil will cost 13€ - that's around 17 Dollars!!!

That sounds exorbitant... but wait.... for the 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette they'll ask for 46€ - according to the present-day exchange-rate it comes up to 60,92 Dollars!!! For me that's daylight robbery!

  • @MsNusch Oh my gosh! That's really crazy prices, I'd suggest trying to find a friend in the US to do a CP for you.

  • @MsNusch HOLY EFF THAT EXPENSIVE X_X id die going up to the counter paying 17 dollars per pencil, imagin wanting to get more then one? they have such pretty colors it would be hard to get one, but at that price.. goodness... i got 13 nyx jumbo pencils from ebay for 14 dollars i think? somewhere there, no more then 20 dollars thats for sure... there isnt nyx jumbo pencils where i am either =/ i checked all the stores and nada..

    when in doubt.... EBAY XD

  • @MsNusch Thats absolutely insane! Deffo find somebody in the U.S. to ship them for you. Do you have any family or anything over here????

  • bahahahah it does look like its pooping!

  • Comment removed

  • where do i get that pencil... and also looking for the white one name milk? im in st.louis

  • @birtyhodgson If you have an Ulta nearby check there, they usually have NYX stocked pretty well.

  • @birtyhodgson look on ebay they are very cheap on there

  • the avon sharpener works to sharpen these. and its only like a dollar! :D

  • it looks like its taking a crap. haha. but thanks for your helpp!

  • Question: Does it stay the same creamy, easy to apply consistency as the pencil or does it dry harder because you added heat to it?

  • @Stoopudjurcee1 It stays the same, I did mine over a year ago now and they're still the same as when I bought em. =)

  • wow thanks this really helps alot

  • where can u buy nyx jumbo eyeshadow pencils?

  • @jkat317 You can find them at Ulta Beauty Store.

  • For the Nyx eyeshadow pencils, they have this new one where you don't have to sharpen them..you just twist it

  • this looks like just fun to do lol

  • that is so kool, but i still wonder how you get the rest of the product out without doing this technique.

  • hey, could i put this into a metal jar?

  • @figureoutaname1 I don't see why not, as long as it seals properly.

  • hey, do u have to melt it? i wanna use it like NOW im impatient aahaha

  • omg it looks so freaky, lol very cool tip thanks!

  • what r u wearing on your lips!?!??! it is so pretty!!! i kind of want to try that color cause it looks like it would work in summer, winter, fall, and spring!!!

  • @ShelbyShow1 It's been awhile since I filmed this so I can't be 100% sure but it looks like Mac Viva Glam V to me.

  • that's so cool!

  • I looked around for some ways to do this.... the way you did it didn't look as well as if you microwave it.

  • Hey, just found your channel! Subscribed!!!

Can I ask if I can do this with a mac shadestick? xx

  • @sab2509 I haven't tried it with a shade stick. It may be easier to just roll up the shade stick all the way, break it off and smoosh it into the container, no heat that way. I don't know how it would react to heat.

  • what kind of samples do you ask for at mac?:)

  • can you use a mousemad?

  • haha its pooping. sorry i had to say it

  • Thanks, I don't think you made a mess. Great job.

  • perfect. Thanks. :) I use this product all the time and since I always use my finger to apply it anyway...

  • omg thanks put wat did u get in the sampel container i really want to know thanks :)

  • Thank you for clarifying that some caps are easier to remove than others.. I couldn't find the nyx pencils here so I got one off ebay and I was sort of paranoid that it had been 'tampered' with since the end was so easy to remove lol!! Thank you for the video :)

  • such a great idea, does the consistency of the product change in any way?

  • @anitapequena Not at all

  • oh cool! thanks :) this is really helpful

  • They should make twisty tubes.

  • @xemmmx haha I thought they were when I bought it

  • did it dry up?

  • @aninijjinina Nope, it's still just as creamy.

  • looks like it would take too long if i wanted to do a few at a time

  • that.. was soooo cool! :D

  • Ok that was pretty cool to watch, lol

  • thanks!! i thought it would be sooo hard

  • that's so cool!

  • out of all the vids on how to do this, urs is the best. thanks for the tip, its alot easier now for storage x

  • lmao it looks like the pencil is taking a shit

  • @mrsfreak2you LMAO ew

  • @mrsfreak2you she shouldve used a brown pencil for effect lol.

  • @vanityspace i like the way you think, my friend.

  • That's a really cool trick! I never knew you could do that. I might have to try it now :] Thanks!

  • Awesome! Great tutorial. Ill give this a try.

  • LOL! i'm sorry but this is too funny! (the part where it was coming out) ahaha :D

  • great video (:

  • that is awesome i"m gonna have to get some jars and do that cause i dont' like using it in pencil form gets to messy

  • im gunna do this because i tried to sharpen my jumbo pencil and i didnt really think and i ended up having to throw away my sharpener :L x

  • I have done this to all my NYX jumbo pencils and I am sooooo happy that I did!!!! Thanks for your video! :)

  • I JUST DID IT, worked amazingly. I thought it would be hard.
