You've never been on a ship through a North Sea storm in winter, I'd guess. The best you could hope for is not to be throwing up ALL night. But going outside, you would be able watching the waves from very close up indeed. Like, under them. And they can get a bit big - heard of the Draupner Wave?

Meanwhile, "overbuilt" ships still go tits up all the time. Like Friday night, just off Italy. Big cruise job, lying on its side with a rather large chunk of rock wedged up its ship's ass.

after being in the US Navy for 20 years,, Luxury Liners should take its cue from Navy Ships on how to tie down every thing,, one thing is to have the guest in mind,, but its also a ship, and when you get into 40 feet waves, every thing that isnt tied down becomes a missile hazard,,, they should hire me give to give them safety hints, on Navy ships in the same weather conditions we can eat, and not spill a drop,, and even go to general quaters with out a bomb moving. Its not that hard,,,
