I had no clue that with Colt McCoy in, the defense would have stopped Alabama's top two rushers from gaining 225 yards and 4 TD's. I always thought he was a QB, not a defensive player.

But at the end of the day, the so called great Run-D that Texas had, that had never given up a 100 yard rusher all season long, gave up over 100 yards rushing to Ingram AND richardson each. The freshman Gilbret did not lose that game by himself either,,,in fact, freshman or not,,he is alot tuffer and takes a hit alot better than mccoy can!
With Gilbert in Texas had 5 consecutive 3 & outs, then an INT in Bama territory. Then they had another 3 & out, then another INT that was returned for a TD. At this point Bama scored 24 consecutive points after being down 6-0. Then Gilbert was 3/10 for 52 yards on the next 2 drives w/ 2 first downs. Then another 3 & out. In these 11 drives, Mccoy would have been more mature, efficient and productive! No questions asked.

So... Mclain had the flu and didn't practice a couple of practices before the game. Darius had a full arm brace on. I should have pointed out that Colt is the qaurterback. THE QAURTERBACK. In some cases,the most important position on the team. And it Texas' case that is. then you put in a true freshman QB. And even then he brought them back.
So since Colt is THE quarterback, that means that returning Heisman winner Sam Bradford is also THE quarterback for his team. So if Bama's win is negated because of Colt's injury, then Texas' win against Oklahoma should be taken away as well.

Damn that Texas team had SO MUCH HEART. It killed me to see us go down! I got to go to the game as my graduation gift I was SO PSYCHED. Painful game to lose, but I am proud of these winners for playing SO HARD. Definitely one of the best Texas teams ever, 08-10. I love those guys!

With Gilbert in Texas had 5 consecutive 3 & outs, then an INT in Bama territory. Then they had another 3 & out, then another INT that was returned for a TD. At this point Bama scored 24 consecutive points after being down 6-0. Then Gilbert was 3/10 for 52 yards on the next 2 drives w/ 2 first downs. Then another 3 & out. McElroy had three cracked ribs, and got thrown around several times during the game. Jones had a bum knee. they scored 1 on defense and that wasn't the qb's fault. it was the running backs fault for not catching the ball. would colt mccoy have taken that hit any different to not fumble the ball. what if we had donte hightower a linebacker who some think is better the mclain. or if mclain would have been healthy. or mark ingram. our qb is good. he threw for 300 yards against florida. he had 3 cracked ribs against texas and you could tell. bama was missing a starter and had 3 hurt starters.

Be classy billy. I have run into alot of nice Alabama fans who are very respectful. Alabama is a great team and deserved the win just like Texas deserved to be there. If the tables were turned Alabama fans would do the same thing if thier Hiesman QB was nocked out of the game. THE BEST PLAYER ON YOUR TEAM. So it's not 'excuses'. IT's reality. Does that mean since A. Smith was suspended and M. Johnson was hurt in the Sugar Bowl last season that Utah shouldn't get credit for the win? What about S. Bradford being hurt against Texas this season? Does that mean Texas shouldn't get credit for beating Oklahoma? I should have pointed out that Colt is the qaurterback. THE QAURTERBACK. In some cases,the most important position on the team. And it Texas' case that is. then you put in a true freshman QB. And even then he brought them back.

So since Colt is THE quarterback, that means that returning Heisman winner Sam Bradford is also THE quarterback for his team. So if Bama's win is negated because of Colt's injury, then Texas' win against Oklahoma should be taken away as well.
Injuries are part of the game. I doubt you would be arguing about Texas winning if Greg McElroy or Rolando McClain would've been hurt.
