I got this one ages ago. Check the video by Datai that explains how to get the patch and stuff. If your game has Mew in it, something must be seriously wrong. I'm not sure what could cause that.

can someone please reply to me, i was playing Pokemon Gold a few hours ago, i just started a new game and I USED NO HACKS AT ALL, although i wish i had the equipment to do that :P but anyway, i started a new game and gotten all the way to ilex forest when a wild zubat appeared and the zubat shined like the red gyrados does when you fight it and instead of the zubat being green with purple wings it was green with pink wings, and i caught it, its weird, can someone tell me what it was O_o???

That was just a shiny - you've never heard of those before? Every Pokemon has a chance of having different colors, although they're very rare. And in Gold/Silver/Crystal, shinies are somewhat stronger than run-of-the-mill Pokemon. (This isn't true in the later games though. In those, they're exactly the same except for color)

not a good team, honestly. both hoot-hoot and sentret are normal types, and spinarak and chikorita are similar types your team is extremely vulnerable.

Just use savestates instead of saving. That's what I do. If you need to save for part of the game (ie, after the Elite 4), go to Options -> Emulator -> Save Type and then check off "Flash 128 K", but I'm not sure if this actually does anything.
