Hey Laura, I'm Laura Davis' niece. I think I met you a couple times when I was younger, but I'm not positive. I just wanted to say that I was looking at your website, and your food looks delicious. Next time my boyfriend and I go grocery shopping, I'm getting all the ingredients for your tenderloin recipe and make it. Thank you for having these recipes on here!
My turkey is about 12lbs, so should I still put it in the oven for the same amount of time as you're doing or shorter? Please help, I'm making this tomorrow.
thank you sooo much for this recipe! i did it for thanksgiving and everyone LOVED the turkey because it came out soo well. thank you thank you thank you. i love you videos!

can you show us or tell us how to get the turkey ready??? This is my 2nd time cooking for Thanksgiving soo I'm still a newbie... :) (Like how to wash and dry it.. thx!)
turkeys are quite big and my friends and I want to make a turkey for Christmas, but we're only doing this with 7 people or so, are there, like, small turkeys available.
Turkeys aren't yet for sale here, so I can't check, just wanted to know how it is in the rest of the world :)
How lucky is your husband to have a beautiful wife that can cook the way you do, but wait, how lucky are you to have a husband that films and supports you the way he does! much love from California Laura!
i love all your recipies Lauu ra i am wonder if you win some to do it??because is a lot of work to do it....but we appreciate all your work thank youuuuuuu!!!and you r so sweet!!!spacialy when you try your food you make hungry hahahha!!!
@diablizzy Hi you can find the sage in any supermarket,,,but if you live in some country wich is cold like Canada...you will find it just dry! otherwise you can find it fresh! by examplein central or sud america!! good luck...i have ti in my garden but now the snow is coming so she deth!! sad!!!
Hi Laura i have a question? for a wholw chiken of 13 punds how long i have to bake it?? thank you!! i will appreciate your respond!
and of course i will do my turky with all your recipies!! the gravy the dessert and well a lot of your recipies a made all was go good!!! thank you to share it!!
Ima try the herbs... usually my mom just rubs oranges all over the night before.. then before cooking rubs butter but no herbs.. definitely gonna do herbs LOL
I notice in your videos that you use unsalted butter, yet you add salt later on. Wouldn't it be easier to use regular butter instead? I hope you have time to answer my questions. Thank you for this great video. Lynn
@kevico2 Hey, I'm not Laura but I think it is in an effort to control the seasoning to your taste. I too only ever use unsalted butter, for this reason and also because it is versatile. For eg, I wouldn't want salted butter on my toast.
@kevico2 I noticed the same thing and wondered. I always hate to ask because I know these cookers/chefs get so much grief on things. But I was scratching my head on it too lol.
My family has a secret recipe for turkey and I have never had one better, but yours does look super yummy. What does basting actually do to the turkey?
@vampvswolf Basting keeps it moist. There are as she said other methods brining before hand long process. I have also used a oven bag. It's all about keeping the turkey moist.
mmm i can't wait for thanksgiving! my family is going to my aunt & uncle's house..but my dad always wants his own turkey at home. i am going to make this for him, he doesn't really add any kind of flavoring and i bet this delicious!
@mrsmaz123 I would probably leave the bags inside the turkey,,but not laura!!!...BUT there is that bag hanging out of the bottom cabinet that is driving me nuts...!!lol..on all episodes connected with this thanksgiving..
@peaceandluv01 Good question! I like using a $5-$10 "roast thermometer" (google the image if needed). You stick it into the thickest part of the bird's breast meat (don't let it touch bone). You leave it stuck in the bird while it is cooking. Simply wait for the bird to come up to proper temperature. EASY! :)
Test any thermometer for accuracy before first use with a pot of boiling water. It should read within a couple degrees of 212*F, or 100*C. The tip should only contact the boiling water.
@ZombiedustXXX Part two. You can even try this on a chicken before turkey day! The nice thing about using a roast thermometer, is that works for any size of bird or roast. Those plastic pop-ups turkey indicators that are found stuck into store bought turkeys are total junk. Never trust them.
This recipe is so similar to the one I use every Thanksgiving. Except most years I do put my turkey in a simple brine. Love watching your Thanksgiving episodes, makes me get excited to cook for my family on that day! : ]]
Awesome! Thanks so much for the tips!! I was getting a little worried about this Thanksgiving because I usually host, but last year I was pregnant and about to have my son and WAS NOT in the holiday mood! haha So I didnt do Thanksgiving, and I feel like I needed a little refresher course on how to do all this stuff!
