well I think his total downfall was when his fiance who was on teh cover Dirt and in cartoon form on the Mad season album cover - died of a heart attack from a bad heroin shot...he was teh one who introduced her to it ..and I think that guilt and sadness is what finally made him just totally give up ..plus he had a ton of issues with his real father too ..Layne had a very sad life if you look into it

awesome crowd.....layne really hated when people constantaly tagged drugs along whenrver his name was spoken ..its kinda why he became a recluse and regreted every taking heroin..remeber him for his art an strenghts not his weaknesses, that we all have ,, yes drugs were a big part of laynes life an maybe persona , but Layne did not want to put himself out there like that for his fans an kids watching him

we all thought what was going on with him was bad (and its terrible i have to face the same shit every day with myself) but from a musical perspective its better than that little tanned bitch that over pronounces everything.. NOT grunge!
