...Just a few pieces of advice...

Bits of potato are the best things to shoot from a potato gun. (more tight fit=more preasure=more BOOM)

Also, if you try to make a more powerful potato gun, it would be a good idea to use a stronger material as the combustion chamber: such as a small piece of pvc fitting.

And you may also want to concider using a different fuel such as hairspray or butane (you can buy cans of butane, or you can get a bbq lighter, not the red button thing but the long lighter and half-press on the buton, as far as you can press without it ignighting)

i do the same thing. just want to make a point, for loading, stick the projectile in the tip, spray fuel and mix with oxygen, close the lid then push down the projectile. this compresses the mixture ( asuming the projectile is a tight fit), helping with a bigger bang. even though you did do it in ur vid, great vid btw, just wanted to point it out :P

you have to make sure that you get some oxygren in the chamber so the fire can combusts ( thus the combustion chamber ) if you have no oxygen you cant fire. when you spray the axe in only spray it for a half second and dont put too much in. watch how much i put in it and always remember to put the ammo down the barrel. for a even better shot that that one put the ammo at the tip of the barrel, then spray the axe and close it, then push the ammo down so that it builds more compression.

i have been playing around with these and i have found that aside from the right oxygen/fuel ratio, a nice long,hot,bright spark is the way to get it to fire every time.if you want to generate one of these every time buy a bbq specific sparker(the red button on your regular bbq). these things are not like the disposable kinds from a actual butane lighters and generate a hotter spark that doesn't wear out. you can find these at your the hardware store.

It is often used as a rough indication of the destructive potential of a given firearm.
