bummer, i was camping just opposite it at billing last year, i thought it was a minor from behind because of the grafted boot, its a great looking little car though. Was it a rover v8? I couldn't see when it was parked up.

it was a 2.8 v6, it was built by the person i got it from,your right about the minor rear, the roof was couped and the minor rear panels used

sadly i sold it a few years ago, it was matt black when i had it , seen a few pics of it and it looks good gloss black, was a great car
