Firenza is doing great, Kiana is going to be awesome w/more experience..she is still such a pup! I call tangles and the older more experience dogs have learned to clear themselves. Would love to see you try a bungee neckline and see it that helps a bit while they are still growing as a team. I think you are doing really well and thank you so much for sharing. So many think that racing is scarey. Still ski-jor looks very exhausting!
BC skijoring sure beats racing in Kenora. Four miles and head-on passing sure beats evilly twisty trails and trees in the middle that like to reach out and whack you. Nice time for your dogs! Commiserations on having to run with a neckline.
I find that when the line catches like that, I ski harder, and let the dog get out of it, or I grab the line, pull the dogs back, and let it go slack so they can jump out of it.
Head on passes? Crazy hills! Wow! Pretty steep hills? They look crazy! Good for you! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, I might try pulling the line and letting it go slack if that happens again, and see if that helps. Yes, they were fairly steep hills. Phew. Some of the head-on passes (i.e. another skijorer coming toward us from the other direction) were nutty for sure !! Did you see the one where I was about to pass someone and another person head-on passed him at the same time, then I lost control and crashed ? And the one where I shot between two skiers headed toward me !? Yikes !

I think the crash you took was a good thing to do. Putting on the butt brake!
