Mon Dieu! D' ecouter cette merveilleuse musique a nouveau m' en donne la chair de poule! Ca faisait un siecle que je n' avais pas entendu ce morceau! Oh, que ca me donne le mal du pays, la Bretagne! Comme mon nom "armoricain" l' indique, je suis Breton. J' ai toujours aime la musique bretonne depuis que j' etais tout petit, et je ne m' en lasse jamais. J' ai fait la connaissance d' Alan Stivell, tout au moins sa musique, dans les annees 70 alors que j' etais adolescent. J' ai ete un fan depuis.

I used to listen to my father's Alan Stivell records when I was a child. I later recorded them on cassette and listened to them until the tapes were stretched and wouldn't play properly any longer. Thank you for posting some of his tunes on this site; I have now compiled a play list of all my favourite tunes and songs. I have even taught myself to play a few of them on the fiddle, which I am just learning to play at the age of 40-something!

as i wrote to Mary, i had never before seen a yong one sitting on the back of the mother. Its been one of the occasions when i´ve been to the right place in the right moment with my camera.

Alan Stivell macht immer noch grandiose Musik. Es gibt auf YouTube einiges von.

Ich hab die Platte damals aus Paris mitgebracht, aus nem Musikladen am Boulevard St. Michel, den es immer noch gibt. Fand ich klasse, als ich vor drei jahren nach bald 20 Jahren mal wieder in Paris war, und festgestellt habe, dass es dort immer noch jede Menge Musik gibt, die in D-land nur schwer zu finden ist.
