Arcadeports.. I never played this game never even heard of it.. But generally games ported from arcade to NES are horrible. The capabilities of a NES just isnt the same as these huge arcade machines.. Obviously you can fit way more iron inside an arcade than inside a small home console. Sadly even today we have the same issue... Computergames getting ported to consoles. Like FPS and some RTS games. C&C3 was a godo game... when they made c&c4 and had to port it to consoles, guess what? It sucked.
@JiflixIsGay Yea, it looks really funny to hit the curb after doing pretty well lol. Really out of place...then again, so is everything else in this game it seems like.
The NES version is totally ass. I forget sometimes just how horrible the arcade ports of games were for NES, this TMNT and Rampage are all equally disastrous. I grew up through the 80s and always was disappointed with NES ports of games but now in my late 20s when I revisit them, it's somehow so much worse.
Yea, i know what you mean about being disappointed with arcade ports. I'm not as old as you but i remember fighting game ports to home consoles usually weren't that great. But it's the NES, you can't really expect a perfect transition. However, Ninja Gaiden is an example of a port that's actually superior to the arcade version.
Yeah, when I was 8 years old I didn't quite understand why the games couldn't be as good on NES and the fog of memory from how you perceive things when you're little is sometimes totally different. I was playing Paperboy for kicks last night and looked up speed runs because I always felt like it was a ridiculously difficult game.
@EWAShock Yup yup, Thank god for the SNES and Genesis versions. At least the controls were more loose, the old NES was so stiff it was almost unplayable.

@Ex0rz But it wasnt just the port that sucked... The pc version also sucked cause it had to be made so that it could be played on consoles.

You carefully worded your description to attract people who search for stuff like "perfect tool assisted speed run"
Spectator21 2 years ago
if i did it was by accident. i just wanted to address the TAS issue in the description that's all. the run itself is obviously not very perfect.
the tags are: paperboy speed run
no other claims otherwise
