when i go on illustrator the bare isnt ther were i can choose my brus.on the left

You probably have your toolbar closed. I would hazard you could open it up again by going under the "Window" menu and making sure "tools" is checked.

It's hard to get the lines right without losing details, but otherwise this works perfectly! Much better than levels!
