brandon vera landed good strike but not enough to win.he cannot control the fight,, he cannot make what he want to do in the octagon, he should move fast to stay away from couture.. he should make way to escape from couture to do striking, its mix martial art and grappling also skill,, its cage fight so using fence is good skill..

which fighters are "permitted" to merely push their opponent against the cage the entire bout? only randy couture. and his clinches are rarely ever separated. in the few instances when he doesn't have his opponent pushed against the cage, he's in trouble.

Very interesting point of view, honestly I thought the same. Randy did what he does best, Randy pressed Vera against the cage for the whole fight, Vera may have hit "Harder" But Couture threw more combination and controlled the fight from the clinch. Vera's real damage was the kick to Couture's abdomen.

just like in pride.. if you didn't advance position and tried to edge out a victory by laying on your opponent or being inactive you got carded.. UFC rules are complete bullshit.. fact of the matter is this Randy got his ass kicked in that fight.. Brandon looked like the better fighter and landed the most effective strikes.. You know why Randy was put in that fight? because he's Danas work horse and all because of the court issues Danas been kissing Randys ass

@anfbadboy I agree but Brock challenged Randy for the title not the other way.I love how everyone supports Couture "controlling" the fight while they bash guys like Jake Shields or Jon Fitch(who IMO is actually demolishing his opponents) for grinding on the ground
