@MuscleSculptor A mistake is a mistake is a mistake, Mistakes that Michelangeli makes do not make him less of a genius. They do not make him more of a genius either.
@romangitlin actually, I was mistaken. I had it BACKWARDS. The real truth is that Michelangelli DID NOT make mistakes when he played. In the Art of Piano documentary it was pointed out that he NEVER made mistakes when playing piano. He simply didn't make mistakes. duhhh.... In that documentary it was said by professional pianists that "we never hear a single wrong note from Michelangeli." So maybe people now are imagining things, I don't know. He didn't make mistakes.... so YOU are "mistaken".
@romangitlin which is why I'm now DELETING my comment from 5 months ago, cuz it was actually completely wrong. I had it backwards. (and for some reason you seem to also......seeing and hearing things that are not really there). The Art of Piano says clearly (and these are reputable people who studied Michelangeli) that Michelangeli DID NOT MAKE WRONG NOTES EVER, WHEN PLAYING. so instead of confusing people and things, I'm simply removing my erroneous comment from months ago.....
@MuscleSculptor But he does a mistake at 1:28, he accidently hits the tone A together with the B. This doesn't make the performance bad because in my ears it's perfect...
Amazing! This has to be the best out of everyone I've ever heard playing this sonata. About the mistakes, I really don't see the point of bringing them up. I'd rather listen to this performance with a couple of missed notes, rather than a cyborg's flawless but empty interpretation.
Can´t you read? It´s stupid do point out a single mistake - (though he actually does two more - but guys like you won´t hear that anyway) - because of what I wrote. You better concentrate on the musical content and on what Beethoven tells you through Michelangeli´s fingers.
this guy looks like he'd make some awesome music.

I love this sonata, I think this performance perhaps lacks Beethoven's personality and blood..but to hear this masterpiece is always a pleasure...

I agree. It's called being human.
And thank goodness for his humanity; makes him such a superior pianist!

I didn't know that Michelangeli play earily Beethoven piano sonata in such FANTASY before.
Alas, it is very pity, he didn't play the late period piano sonatas.

so what? do you know how hard it is to play a whole Beethoven sonata just by remembrance and live AND without a mistake? Nearly impossible!

Why don't you make a publication of your master or of yourself that plays this sonata better than Arturo?
So you can stop any people say you're a silly man that reduces Beethoven music to errors trapping...
