Well, there is one thing I can confirm for you Rick and everyone else. Jehovah's Witnesses have spent millions of dollars of JW's world-wide work contributions on this problem. Remember, in addition to those multi-million dollar settlements, they had to pay some worldly lawyers huge legal fees. I honestly don't know the exact number - only a few people possess that exact number - but, the est. amounts that were floating around are staggering and would cause anyone of JW's great pain of heart.

Mostly nothing happened because there wasn't a 2nd witness. No one was told about the allegations and unless mandated by state law were not reported to police. Victims were told to keep quiet. And the WT quietly settled out of court for millions in order to keep them silent.

You dont really know how you will react because the organization connects God with themselves. so that if you accuse a brother, you will be hurting the organization of God. if you question the way the organization handles things, then you have a bad attitude and you risk being disfellowshipped and losing your family and friends. eventually, you can do nothing.

The elder that knocked on my parents' door had been accused of molesting my friend's sister, it was disregarded by all as a rebellious teen that didn't want to go to meetings anymore. 20 years later that same friend's daughter accused that same elder (of course we were all still close in the congregation). I don't know all the details, because the Society has them sworn to not discuss it, but I haven't been able to find a single item on the net of his arrest

JWs often allow pedophiles to slide if they don't have 2 or more witnesses. Nothing will be reported to the cops because 2 or more people didn't see it. Like pedophiles have an audience! But if a married person spends the night at someone's house of the opposite sex then that can be grounds for a divorce. Typical JW reasoning! Yes, historically the Watchtower has tried to hide not only abuse, but all other kinds of wrongdoing in the congregation. That is a lie. I have attended the JW meetings. They compared their organization to the Noah's Ark- only these, who went in, survived. And maybe there were some good people outside too, but they were wiped out by GOD (and so on).

Child sexual abuse is alive and well in the JW organization. I know, it happened to my child and in the end I was d'fellowshipped because I wouldn't let the thing rest. I involved the police and for this I was punished and silenced. I don't need any convincing that the JWs cover up pedophiles. The organization is more interested in it's image than reality and children.

Well, there is one thing I can confirm for you Rick and everyone else. Jehovah's Witnesses have spent millions of dollars of JW's world-wide work contributions on this problem. Remember, in addition to those multi-million dollar settlements, they had to pay some worldly lawyers huge legal fees. I honestly don't know the exact number - only a few people possess that exact number - but, the est. amounts that were floating around are staggering and would cause anyone of JW's great pain of heart.

it is very clear, the jw's are NOT just as guilty as the catholic organizationl. jw's never, never moved people to other kingdom halls so they could continue to serve as an elder or whatever, and continue to molest. that is a big difference buddy. also in ireland they are now accused of severe abuse of childern who were disadvantaged in some sort of schools. there is a 1000 page report, it was huge!! again, big, big difference with the jw's, everybody knows that!!

The problem is the coverup. Watchtower is just as guilty as Catholic church. Sure, some may have been DF'd, but what about the ones that were reproved? No one else in the cong was told. Mostly nothing happened because there wasn't a 2nd witness. No one was told about the allegations and unless mandated by state law were not reported to police. Victims were told to keep quiet. And the WT quietly settled out of court for millions in order to keep them silent.

Those of us who have had a problem with JW have seen a different face to the organization than many will ever see. You dont really know how you will react because the organization connects God with themselves. so that if you accuse a brother, you will be hurting the organization of God. if you question the way the organization handles things, then you have a bad attitude and you risk being disfellowshipped and losing your family and friends. eventually, you can do nothing.

I am trying 2 figure this 1 out.Unlike the Catholic Church there should not be occassion where a child is left in an Elder's care.Any duties a minor may have, R carried out when their parents & other adults R around. My parents became JW's when I was 5. The elder that knocked on my parents' door had been accused of molesting my friend's sister, it was disregarded by all as a rebellious teen that didn't want to go to meetings anymore. 20 years later that same friend's daughter accused that same elder (of course we were all still close in the congregation). I don't know all the details, because the Society has them sworn to not discuss it, but I haven't been able to find a single item on the net of his arrest

Her husband with her went to the police, and because he went to the police he was stepped down as a ministerial servant, and was looked down on because of not keeping it in house. She has spoken about it with me I also know of another account a father had raped his daughter and he went to a committee meeting and he was repentant

I left Jehovahs Witnessess ten years ago and it took me twelve months to be reprogrammed to think normally. Most of the things we think and believe are dictated by others - how to act, what to wear, what to think. TV, movies, religions, the media, your parents, friends, teachers, all try to control you until you are thinking based on what everyone else says. Even being totally rebellious is being controlled, because now you're trying to think in an opposite way to everyone else. It's difficult, but try to clear your mind of all this programming you see and hear, and study facts and come to conclusions

I was one myself actually, so I know. And I see the control that goes on in every aspect of life. If you study something, read all sides of it. Try to disprove your own beliefs like scientists do. Read, read a rebuttal, read a rebuttal of that. I have my own beliefs but they are fluid, often I learn something that changes my thinking, even if just a little. Be open and uninfluenced, for or against, making sure your conclusion is your own, not society's, your teacher's, or a religion's.

I just cant I havent got the energy or patience for searching for God again. The first experience was enough for me. Until something happens in my life that will completely turn me around then I have to say that I wont be praying anymore. religion, all of it is face fiction and fantasy mixed together. i dont need that in my life at this moment.

You can not deny that these things have happened. However your information is faulty. The "Watchtower" Has NEVER settled for any person accused of these things. Why? Because when these things are made public, Said persons are disfellowshipped and are no longer a part of ANY congregation. They are NOT represented by the watchtower society. Furthermore, Every walk of life has its crazies. You are trying to convince people that these things happened BECAUSE they were witnesses. If fact they didnt.

You seem like an "expert" on the subject. What PROOF do you have that they have "rise in its ranks"? You don't. At best, you have the opinions of others, which is not necessarily true. Child abuse (unfortunately) is a crime in today's world. It is prevelant in society itself. JW reports cases within their ranks to the headquarters, which includes THOSE WHO ARE NOT WITNESSES. It is their policy to report even "speculation." Those convicted can NEVER EVER have any form of responsibility in congs.

Absolutely wrong. They need 2 eyewitnesses before they report it. How often are there 2 witnesses to child molestation? There are tons of cases like this, and for you to assume every claim is a lie is demeaning and hurtful to those who were molested. What if the person has no "court records?" If there is no "DNA evidence?" Then they don't report.

i try to follow the Lord as i believe He gave us the truth through that wise and faithful servant pastor ct. russel. he founded our non sectarian non denominational and non hostile group the Bible Students....the JW friends were actually founded in 1931 by jfr.well over two thirds left the society after brother russell died in 1916....this is not commonly known but it is so. jfr was NOT liked by most.... brother russell was so deeply loved by all the friends.....

JWs often allow pedophiles to slide if they don't have 2 or more witnesses. Nothing will be reported to the cops because 2 or more people didn't see it. Like pedophiles have an audience! But if a married person spends the night at someone's house of the opposite sex then that can be grounds for a divorce. Typical JW reasoning! They can't reason effectively because if what you say makes sense then that means they are against the watchtower and they will get kicked out. Its emotional blackmail.

My biggest regret learning about these lawsuits is that the families agree to "settle" and settlements are shrouded in secrecry so people never get full disclosure. DO NOT SETTLE FOLKS!!! Yes, historically the Watchtower has tried to hide not only abuse, but all other kinds of wrongdoing in the congregation. They wanted to paint a picture that they were different from other religions, when in fact they were just the same. We were constantly told that to report or talk about bad things in the congregation was to bring reproach upon Jehovah's name.

What the heck? I was raised a witness and was baptised @ 15yrs old. Im now 22yrs old. I just want to know what is true and what is coming from False Prophets?? I realize that JW are the only religion that take a stand against pagan practices like Christmas, Holloween, ect, and follow Jesus command to preach. So are some in our organization (made up of imperfect humans) doing wrong or just lies???

Don't judge the whole flock on the count of a few rotten cattle. I've heard a lot of stories too, some are true and some aren't. Any congregation made up of imperfect people is going to be imperfect. The JWs are the closest to truth we're gonna get until Jesus return.

sorry to say, child abuse runs rampant in the organization, I know first hand. The way the society handled it all was this, "Is there any possibilities you and your perpetrator could make amends?" Can you imagine they wanted us to face our felon... The state of California was more than happy to award our family money for psycological assistant, when the society claimed due to fear of law suits they couldn't do anything.. It was quite discouraging.

That is a lie. I have attended the JW meetings. They compared their organization to the Noah's Ark- only these, who went in, survived. And maybe there were some good people outside too, but they were wiped out by GOD (and so on).
I don't critisise the God himself- all that He has ever done, was (and is) right.
But JWs act like the Governing Body's word was as good as God's word.
The claim that people will survive only in their organization- is also JWs', not God's word.

thats true they say they are in gods spiriual ark,they are the spiritual israelites, the governing body gives them thier spiritual food, and they live in a spiritual paradise....... the watchtower society!

Child sexual abuse is alive and well in the JW organization. I know, it happened to my child and in the end I was d'fellowshipped because I wouldn't let the thing rest. I involved the police and for this I was punished and silenced. I don't need any convincing that the JWs cover up pedophiles. The organization is more interested in it's image than reality and children.
