  • This on looked like it kept you focused, did you find it quit intricate?

  • 3:51 how the f*ck did he now that i was making nois whit mi fingers o.o

  • Woow extraordinary, very musical and difficult ! can you recomend some method, please !!!

i wan to be able to play musical and with independece, just like you :D

  • see why cant all genres have such great drumming, im tired of having only a slect few drummer that play interestingly in other genres than progressive metal and djent

  • @Guitaristscreamer Look harder! and you will find many interesting drummers who play many genres and not progressive metal and djent :) I am a huge fan of progressive metal and djent and I cover a few pieces (on my youtube channel) so I'm not defending other genres arbitrarily, but good drumming is not limited to djent and prog at all. I used to think dream theater was the only music worth listening to when I was younger, now I know that is not the case.

    Terri Lyne,

    Johnny Rab,

    to name a few

  • @Guitaristscreamer I just realized I may have misunderstood your post!!!! apologies. It could have been taken two ways I think I took it the wrong way haha

  • As a fellow drummer, all I can say is fuck, that is perfection.

    That snare <3

  • This is 100% Genuine Music!

What audio interface and recording software do you use Travis?

Any recommendations on a drum mic interface for say under $300.00? Thank you in Advance!

  • tough one to count...time sigs??

  • @KhalDrogo76 the main riff sounds like 7/8 but are there other bars in there that change? love this tune!

  • @KhalDrogo76 most, if not all, of it's in 11/16.

  • @KhalDrogo76 woops i meant 13/16

  • @7angelofdrums7 13 days...ahh...durr! tnx

  • @ 3:51Bahahahaha

  • is he releasing an album or what? i love this dudes music. definitely my favorite of all ur sessions

  • About 1000 of these views are mine. You've got unbelievable feel to compliment your chops! Please keep doing exactly what it is you're doing!

  • Amazing. But I was worried something crazy and scary was going to happen because it was a Pete P song. He's like a movie you haven't seen the previews for on purpose but heard all kinds of hype so you expect anything. It was nice to have a beautiful song all the way through with no surprise scares. =)

  • MY BIG QUESTION!

Where do you live to be able to practice so much?

I get about an hour and a half before parents or neighbours begin complaining.

Drumming is my life, i intend to keep it that way.

What do i do to fix this solvable problem.!?

other then spending frivolous amounts of money on soundproofing......

  • @MrJAMORT I suggest a storage space.

  • i love how you work the snare. how deep is it?

  • i can't be the only one who wants a 'behind the throne' angle - instead of side?

  • Great song, how much session work do you do these days?

  • God! I love that snare!!!

  • i love how theres like a really small patch in the center of ur snare for where you hit. so precise

  • Really nice sounding drums, lovely and warm!

  • @zilgrerem Thanks! It's actually deactivated entirely throughout the whole piece. The size of the hats gives them that nice beefy sizzle (apologies to vegetarians lulzzz), which is why I got 'em.

  • Do you sound replace the drums at all?

  • @buckethead77 Nope

  • @shaftninja Wow, you get great sound then.

  • To the people who didn't get the album.. I bet you guys were not expecting this from Pete. ;) One of top 50 best songs of all time for me.

  • simply beautiful.

  • Such an amazing song, I can't stop listening

Very stoked for the Of Legends tour btw.. I'll be there for the Jax, FL show!

  • God, I love this song.

    Good shit, as usual.

  • I'm a big fan of your work, but is your drumsound all natural? No mididrums mixed for extra punch or anything because it's all so clear and well balanced and mixed!

  • Lovely song.

The Pete Peterson sessions are definitely my favourite to watch, you guys do great work together and the result is simply awesome music.

    Keep it up guys!

  • Does this mean that Pete*(1+rson) is coming out with an EP soon? God I hope so!!

  • @DeliciousNubbs It's already out!

  • @mooktank Huzzah, now is it in physical compact disk format or only downloadable? I'd love a physical copy. Because my ipod no longer works, I've switched exclusively to CDs.

  • @DeliciousNubbs Sorry man, no physical copies. CD-Rs are pretty cheap these days though.

  • @mooktank Indeed. I just burned all of your available tracks via iTunes. Fucking loving jamming your tunes in my car!

  • @inimicalODDITY Nice. Glad you like it and thanks a ton for the support!

  • This is crazy.

  • This is in 13/8 right? Sorry I'm a n00b at odd time sigs XP

  • Brilliant job as always, Travis!

  • my god this guy just gets better and better

  • This is really different from anything I've herd Travis play. He's a BAMF that can play anything!

  • damn, his music is just downright moving when the lyrics are serious. you nailed it travis.

  • i know this is random, but u should totally cover Bleed by Meshuggah. i think you can do it. 7 minutes of intense kick drum patterns.

  • @on3n1ght3r666 There are plenty of other Bleed covers around, no point in Travis learning, recording + Uploading it, his videos are all session work, or bands he's involved with in some way.

  • @BreanMate i was just interested to see it.

  • GEEZUS!!!!!, look at the stack o' drumheads in the back!!!!!!

  • @infectedrummer36 Holy sh....

  • the guitar parts are very beautiful. what a great writer!!! oh yea u too travis :)

  • God I love the Peterson/Orbin combo! I NEED and album.

  • @inimicalODDITY Yup, the same.

  • Why isn't Pete Peterson's music more popular??

  • really beautiful music...I love Pete Peterson...

Your drumming fits perfectly the music...very musical and tasty...

  • Travis, how do you feel about those 15" mdm's? I received an endorsement deal with TRX a little bit back and picked up the 15" drkbrt hats and they're great for metal, but I need something a little more diverse for gigs in the future. Any info you could give me about your hats (new and old from TRX) would be greatly appreciated

  • Hey, a question I figured you'd know. When you buy drum skins, do they come in two's, a batter head and a resonating head.. or do you have to buy them separate?

  • @Massy012 seperate.

  • Find a sponsors and there will be more views.

  • @TheVitushkin

Why would you tell him to do that? Sponsors ruin things.

  • @Gzorz everyone is complaining about low level of views.I'm guessing it's probably the mode to reach more views

  • @TheVitushkin what difference does that make to anyone but Travis though? I know it's pretentious to say that you shouldn't care about how much people like something, or that you shouldn't let it affect your view of it. But really? Can one not just watch how amazing this guy is at playing the drums? Link it to a friend or something. Not everything needs corporate backing to get it to 'where it should be'.

  • You purchased a new pair of TRX hats? I thought you were endorsed by them?

  • @vanouro Endorsement doesn't always mean "free" unless you're huge fame wise, he probably has a high level endorsement deal (75%+ discount)

  • @vanouro Being endorsed means you get things for cheaper. Sponsorships are for free, and for musical equipment, well, that basically doesn't happen.

  • You deserve soooooooooo much more views! You are definitely one of the best on Youtube, keep em' coming man!

  • Love yer shit!

  • fresh i love this track since many time love make jogging with this track in my ears hahaha

  • "13 days"

a piss take on gavin harrisons "19 days"

hahaha! love the song nonetheless .

  • @datommaster Also a piss take on Avishai Cohen's "11 wives" :) I love piss takes.

  • @datommaster Then there's also Avishai Cohen's "7 seas"

  • Transitional Farms = Ultimate Win

  • really reminds me of Porcupine Tree which is an awesome thing. Well written and amazing execution as always mate

  • this is seriously original music. aside from the song completely devastating, it is also a completely new sound. you are making history here travis

  • Oh, now I get it, the left hat is fixed. I was wondering how he was able to lead with his left foot on the kick while playing the left hat

Also, anyone wanna tell me what's up with that snare head? As in, what is it? Remo suede ambassador or something?

  • @VeryLargeRat The hi hat is not fixed, the left hat is mounted on a traditional stand, while the right one is mounted on a legless stand that is clamped to his bass drum hoop. It operates just like a traditional stand...but is legless. Remo Black X.

  • @inimicalODDITY What I meant is that he isn't controlling how open the hats are with his foot, the clutch is locked in that 'almost-open' position; but I was wondering about the right one too, so thank you

  • Great sound, as usual. Great parts, as usual. You really oughta tour with pete sometime when he gets to it.. It's not like any human can play your parts for his stuff anyway :)

  • I like your drumming, but this is...weird! maybe its what the artist's into but in my opinion you're playing a bit too much in this one specially with the double kick and all the tom work at the beginning. but then again it's probably what the artist as going for!

    great drumming still

  • FINALLY BROUGHT THE TRUTH BACK!

  • Sick dynamics in this one!

  • ill finish this comment when i get done changing my pan....

  • that fill at 4:22 is sweet, drums sound great as usual, playing is great as usual........

  • This is weird hearing such a serious song by Pete Peterson after watching "Death Country". Good job though.

  • You have to buy trx cymbals?? Arent you endorsed?

  • @CrawfordDrummer being endorsed doesn't always mean getting gear for free, he probably gets a good deal on them like a certain percentage off and support.

  • @CrawfordDrummer

endorsements dont always mean free cymbals. at least not new ones. i believe you can only get a cymbal from them if you break the ones you have, but say something of his got stolen, hed have to replace that himself. its probobly because they can re-smelt the metal from the cymbals and bassically make a whole new cymbal from the old cymbal therefore theres no new materials to purchase thus a free cymbal

  • @howycwap The materials is probably the cheapest ingredient in making a cymbal, the work costs alot more.

  • @ouchofdeath

    well depends on the cymbal

  • amazing

  • I think this may just be the softest I've ever watched you play, Travis.

  • Great job :D
