  • Where was Resurrection?

  • Brighton Rock should be number 1!

  • he was a fucking genius- not only did he make those magical sounds coming out of the guitar, but he MADE the god damn guitar. How can you argue with that? Best guitarist of all time...

  • where is made in heaven

  • He's totally amazing. But for me the best Brain May's guitar solo is "Kind of Magic" live at the Wembley Stadium (1986). Title is perfect - it's a MAGIC. I close my eyes, I listen to and I'm in heaven.

  • Does anyone know the song Resurrection?? best brian may solo, go and check it out, from his solo album Back To The Light. The title of the video should be "Top 25 Brian May's Guiatr solos (Queen)". Pretty nice though

  • Brian has a timeless style, I have a strong destaste for a lot of classic rock guitarists, I find their playing bland, too pentatonic reliant, and I find them overrated. But Brian he was ahead of his time and still is much better then Page, Clapton, Gilmour, and HENDRIX yes I Brian deserves more recognition than all those guitar players in my opinion

  • i was 88 888 to watch this!

  • 3:35 brian with a strat :0

  • OMG.. This is prob the only video with a top x number video's that has actually mostly thumbs up.

  • What about Back chat? :)

    Bijou!

    You don't fool me)

Simply impossible to choose ONLY 25 best of Brian, we can call almost each song as best))

  • where is bijou?

  • Brian: original,. soulful, brilliant, best tone ever, instantly recognizable.

  • Hey, what about Somebody to Love???????????

  • what about Bijou? the whole thing is a fantastic solo!!!!!

  • hey! wanting somebody to love

  • When Death Calls - Black Sabbath

  • Excelente eleccion.., aunque creo que puedes incluir BIJOU en alguna otra compilacion que hagas... Saludos

  • @JagGruppen1 y somebody to love

  • Very good!!!!!...the best!!!

  • I don't suppose now would be a good time to say how much brain may favors piers morgan of americas got talent lol

that's sure to get me crucifed lol

  • are you stoopid?!?!

The Invisible Man is Brian May's BEST SOLO!!!!

  • definitely no #1

  • This guy inspired me to QUIT guitar.

  • @weaseldragon

then you are tone deaf and clearly medically stupid!

  • @gcrawford407 You obviously missed my point.

  • sorry dude but the part you played for headlong was just the prelude to a rippin solo......one of brian's best ever!!!!

  • I missed the solo from Its A Hard Life. A very emotional solo...the best in my opinion...

  • 1 - THE BEST!

  • Brighton Rokc Solo, How good is that.

  • Fantastic Briam

  • sorry we will rock you is the easiest queen solo existing

and brighton rock on FOUR??? damn it's the best solo in history!!

but apart from that good list..

  • Really good list

  • I think you forgot the Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy but good solos

  • wär auch ok

  • 10

  • ich find des bei who wants to live forever muss mindestens in die top 3 kommen

  • Great selection ;) Happy B-day Brian

  • Dude, how did you not pick the solos from the song 'See What A Fool I've Been'. It should be in the top 3

  • What about the Invisible Man?

  • Good list, but the solo on Kind of Magic, and These are The Days Of Our Lives are also pretty boss. And where on Earth is Invisible Man?

  • @tayloreh yeah and the second solo in i want it all

  • im missing one of my favourites: good old fashioned lover boy.. i think its gr8!!! but nice to listen to this

    virtuos player..:)

  • You should mention that this "Top 25 Brian May's guitar solos" is only in the Queen's period. Resurrection i.e. is great!, brilliant, agressive, and several more

  • I would add Somebody To Love, at the least, but its a super fun listen.

  • Comment removed

  • Invisible mMan was not mentioned. Shame

  • AND he's an astrophysicist, dean of a college, and built his first guitar!

  • You said 'Father to Song' instead of Father to Son...

And where is 'The Invisible Man'?

  • @Ninjasharkful Dude I agree!

  • @Ninjasharkful

The Invisible Man is on here, but you just can't see it..or hear lol

  • You said 'Father to Song' instead of Father to Son...

  • 自分的にはDon't stop me nowとかSail away sweet sisterとかSave meとかSome body to loveいれて欲しかったなぁ

  • I've create an acc just to tell that u suck ! where's Lazing on sunday afternoon ? 25 solos and no lazing on sunday afternoon... :(

Realy big mistake it's THE perfect overdub solo.

the worst almost 500 persons like that :(

Shame on you. Learn to listen :)

  • I agree with whomever said Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon. It's amazingly perfect

  • I still find Phophet's Song one of the most underrated Queen songs ever, also as to its numerous guitar parts. BoRhap is a fine piece of art, but still Prophet's Song (of the same album) is more vivid, more sensual, symbolic, mature yet a little raw in a way.

  • @HanSerafia I agree.

  • Headlong is probably my favourite solo for now

  • brian may is so good that u could have reversed the list, and it would still be just as true

  • @012jack012 how true ! I totally agree !

  • I think the solo from Millionaire Waltz is just pure genius. It's in my top 5 Brian May solo's!!!

  • For me: Bohemian, Bijou, who Wants to live forerver, we will rock you, we are the champions, drven by you

  • My personal favourite is Lazing on a sunday afternoon!

  • Good Company is definitely the best for guitar orchestration. Best in the world.

  • Don't Stop Me Now?

  • These Are the Days...is also exceptional since it had very little room to be subtle/eloquent. I never realized how much wailing pain Show Must Go On solo has. More than anyone, Brian's really a teamplayer like Steve Howe said - every member of the group was in sync/deep conversation with each other, mutually enhancing-- it's the magic of Queen. Taken out of context you lose some beauty, rhyme and reason of the arrangement, why certain choices work with unbelievable ingenuity when 4 speak as 1.

  • Every Single Solo in this video is awesome...but I love Bijou, Rain Must Fall and You Don't Fool Me guitar solos too...!!!

  • I've always enjoyed how well his guitar playing goes with the particular song that is being play. That is a rare talent in itself.

  • 9 people likes justin bieber....

  • You don't fool me and mother love...People never mention the solos' in these songs...!

  • Driven By You would make my personal top 5 :)

  • somebody to love?

  • i think, friends will be friends should be mentioned...

  • bijou.......

  • where is the end solo " i want it all" ??

  • where's killer queen?

  • @CometShoot000 ...did you even watch the video? 3:25

  • @smoof60 sorry i dont see that part :p

  • @CometShoot000 no worries =P

  • May's tone and layered guitars in "Killer Queen" are fucking phenomenal. Also, you scared the living shit out of me when I didn't see "Hammer To Fall" until #7. By far my favorite Queen song.

    Excellent video!

  • its funny cause i bet brian may can do alot better i always feel like he is holding back in his solos lol

  • This man and the rest of Queen are immense, forget The Beatles, this band truly is the greatest of all time.

  • brian may is so damn legendary... revolutionizing guitar player...

i will never get tired of listening to this stuff

  • why doesn't he get more recognition. He certainly deserves it!

  • Comment removed

  • Freddie is my favourite of the band but i love Brian. But i think the solo's of the Dosco version of "I want it all" and "Hammer to Fall" are better than the single version you post in the video ;)

  • For me the best of Brian May is Invisible Man

  • My favourite solo is Lazing on a sunday afternoon!

  • LAST HORIZON!!! i know it isn't Queen but it's sooo beautiful :')

  • let me hear you say it! Who is the best GUITARIST???!!!

    -BRIAN MAY!!!!!!♥

  • Comment removed

  • So 'The Show Must Go On' has the best guitar solo of all Queen songs?

  • can u email me that picture at 1:27

  • Where's Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy? Good Company? Don't Stop Me Now? Save Me? A Kind of Magic? These Are The Days of Our Lives?!?

  • Good choices, but where's Somebody to Love? That's my favorite solo!

  • wow! great job joselect, loved a bit of great king rat!

  • An amazing guitar player, he inspires me the most!!

  • ah, brighton rock... a song made of solos!

  • This guy inspired me to play guitar.

  • @emshiko What about bicycle race ?

  • @emshiko Me too!

  • He's the ULTIMATE ANSWER to all those shred lovers, sweep-picking fans and whammy bar abusers........his guitar is unique and magic.

  • All his songs are great. King of song writing and harmony soloing.

Some of his best solos can be heard on Live At Wembley : We Will Rock Now, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, A Kind of Magic. All of these are radically different from the studio Versions.

  • PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE?!?!

  • I think every single solo from Brian is thrilling and worth to be remembered (or played). Some time his solos is the main interest of the song (for example in Taylor songs like Tenement Funster or Drowse).

  • I personally think Bijou should have been in there too lol. Still a great list though, the only way to have a "Top" list of Brian's solos would be to have all of them in the list! =P

  • Killer Queen must be #1!!!! hahaha that solo is the reason of why I play guitar! where is Good old fashioned lover boy also! o.O

  • Brian May...a living legend. Queen could have devolved into operatic shock rock, and pretentious noise...but the exquisite taste of Brian, Freddie, John, and Roger kept it real. :) Queen didn't HAVE to be as amazing as they were...they could have been half as brilliant, mere musical dipshits putting out lackluster album after lackluster album, and still made a lot of money doing it. Instead, they chose to be tasteful, multilayered, high-quality, and a whole lot of fun. My favorite band of all.

  • Comment removed

  • Bijou is a VERY special solo of his...it would have made my top 25...but joselect went through the trouble of compiling this video, so my hat is off to the video maker. :) I like how he went all the way back to the first album...that's the mark of a REAL Queen fan. I love "The Night Comes Down" from the first album, as "Liar." Those are some choice cuts! :) So, let's enjoy Jose's top 25 without the nasty comments. :)

  • I love the Angus Young face at 4:15! hehe Brian May is my musical idol as well...a master of taste. While some of his solos were more inspired than others...I'd still rather listen to his solo in "Put out the fire" or "Dancer" more than most other solos by anyone else. He's my favorite guitarist of all...in a top ten that goes something like this: John Petrucci, Tommy Shaw (70's Styx only), Steve Morse, Larry Carlton, Tom Sholz, David Gilmour, Billy Corgan, Randy Rhoads, and Ty Tabor.

  • Naming your favorite Brian May solo is like trying to pick your favorite child.

  • @obscurebandfan Couldn't have said it better myself. :)

  • @obscurebandfan

so, you always pick the oldest one?

  • @obscurebandfan Only difference is, Not one of Brian May's solos is like Meg.

  • @obscurebandfan Or like choosing between saving your guitars or your children from a fire...

  • @obscurebandfan What???

  • i think the solo of who wants to live for ever can be in the top 5 its an very emotional song, so thats wy i think so

  • Beautiful solos, great stuff - what a guitar player!

  • what adbout im going slighthy mad or invisible man????

  • Yoy dont fool me is the bast!!!! :)

  • great king rat!! tremendo solo!!

  • Seems like Gargoperro2 has 8 youtube accounts...

  • nice mix, guitar solos sound so good.. still nothin better than entire songs

  • Brian may is god

  • the best

  • Glad you put Innuendo on there. That's my favorite solo he does. Not saying it's the best, I just love that song.

  • Don't Stop Me Now is conspicuously absent from the list.

  • @segould

FFS..give the man a break..it's HIS favourite solos..if you don't agree..make your own fuckin video.

  • @QueenReigns1 I was just stating an opinion. There's nothing wrong with the way he made it.

  • @segould

Your opinion is not required..as i said in an earlier post..if you don't like this video and the choices..make your own.

  • Nice vid :) BTW #10 is Father To Son, not Song ;)

  • great selection! my favourites are "death on to leags" "we will rock you", "too much love will kill you" and the obligatory "bohemian rapsody" but don´t forget the jazzy solos like "lazing on a sunday afternoon"...Brian is one of the best guitarr players ever!

  • Great selection, gotta love also the solo from ''you don't fool me''

  • ma hai stoppato quello di headlong ancora 20 secondi e avrei avuto un orgasmo!!!

  • My favorite has to be the solo from mother love...... brilliant aint the word :)

  • This guy is Jesus, with God being Freddie Mercury.

  • Best solo is Invisible Man, not even in top 25? Too low

  • I would have had March of the Black Queen as #1

but its Brian May, so you can't really go wrong.

Also i think the solo from Scandal shouldv been on here

  • yeah the show must go on is really the best solo! But who is Kind of Magic?

  • @emanking66 sorry but where is kind of magic

  • awesome.......only only awesome...

    I can't say anymore.

I wonder Why isn't he NO,1 of THE MOST AWESOME guitarist.

But rolling stones decided Jimi is the best,I can't say according to this too.

  • Exelent!!!

  • and where is "A kind of magic" solo?

  • I like the picture at 3:30, showing Brian's strat. You hardly see Brian with anything but his Red Special. Nice find.

  • the king of the king

  • THE TAPPIN PART OF I WAS BORN TO LOVE U WAS GREAT!!

  • @979peter The original Freddie solo version of IWBTLY wasn't Brian May, although the video shows him playing it.

  • I think Bijou deserves it :/

  • Princes of the universe??!!!

  • God dreams of being Brian.

  • lol no spread your wings solo. *sigh

  • Don't mind what everybody says, it's a great list you made. Bijou is overrated.....

    Greetz from Holland

  • I agree.."Good Company" was amazing....

  • Great selection

  • Your nuts! The Show Must Go On? It might make my 25, but I'd quicker reverse it with your number 25 'It's Late'.

My number one would be the main solo of 'I Want It All'.

  • The solo to white queen (as it began) at Hammersmith odeon Christmas eve 1974 was legendary and brought tears to my eyes it was sublime.

  • The solo to white queen (as it began) at Hammersmith odeon Christmas eve 1974 was legendary and brought tears to my eyes.

  • So, you have just taken Queen-song into consideration, then? He has some great solowork-solo's too, you know. "Driven by you" f.ex. I mean, if yoyr actually gonna make a top 25 BRIAN MAY-solo list you should do it right. This really is a top 25 QUEEN-solo list. See what I mean?;)

btw, what kind of criteria do you use to make up your mind? Technical difficulties? "Air Guitar factor"? The solos "Nerve"? What?

  • Awesome! He is a great guitarist and you have truly show cased just the tip of what the man can do. Bravo!

  • The maste of heavy solos, He's so unique, a true genius. That sound and speed and aggression, That power that slashes the brain, hes one of my top guitarists, pretty good selection dude, but I cant rate them cs they all are #1 for me. Thumbs up though. Brian Rules!!!

  • Great List man!

  • FUUUUUCK Brian May TOTALLY ROCKSSSS@

Who else makes his own guitars?? Only Brian...

Who else spends whole days with his guitar practising? Only Brian...

  • BRIAN MAY IS MY IDOL!!!!

  • @irinayugiohfan he's my idol too :) i could play the guitar. that would be great! haha.
