OK, I just checked out the other clips with Oskar. I take back what i said to some extent. This is the only freaking song she can sing. SHe is bad on the other 10000 maniacs songs. I mean, really bad. This is about the best clip you will find of her where she does a fairly decent job.

I am mixed about this. I am a huge fan of Natalie's version of 10000 Maniacs. This video is the same exact video(including the abrupt cutoff) that used to be on the 10000 maniacs official site when they had Oskar as the replacement singer. They had this video in the Media section as a free download.

Personally, I think it is a very charming casual cover and the singer seems very down to earth. I do not share the same hate for her. But lets face it. This is a covers band now.

This is Oskar Saville's turn as Maniacs' lead singer. She replaced Natalie's replacement, Mary Ramsey - not a good move for the band. Ramsey was superior in every way to Saville, and was far more in tune (literally and figuratively) with the style for songs such as this. Thankfully, as I understand it, Ramsey recently returned to front the band.

I agree, it's a guy's name. But that's her name. Natalie Merchant was originally succeeded by her backup vocalist, Mary Ramsey. At the time of this video, they wanted a lead singer that would ''mimic'' Nat. So they ousted Ramsey. Mary, while she never tried to imitate Natalie, had a similar energy that was very fitting for the band. Evidently they saw how laughable it was to do this ''karaoke'' rip-off of Nat's vocal style, and asked Ramsey back to replace Oskar Saville last year.

I loved Mary's version of More than this, she had an amazing voice, not Nat but amazing that that sound came out of that tiny woman. Oskar omg what a MISTAKE. I wish she was back I would pay to see them with Mary. Oskar sounds like a female lounge lizard
