this guy is a beautiful skater and amazing puck handling skills, great vision as well. hes a solid 6'1 210 and if you look at his game last season, he really added a physical dimension to his game. he reminds me of a young forsberg

Best Cap this year. But he just plays for the wrong team... he'll never win then Cup as long as he's not shipped away what's unfotunaly pretty unliky to happen.

My fave player all time is a Swede (Forsberg!!!) and talked to him many times. You seriously would not be able to tell he was foreign unless he told you.

He is indeed a very underrated player, always getting in the shade of Alexander Ovechkin etc, but wow - he's got talent, one of the best playmakers in the NHL right now imo, and he knows how to score aswell.

I met Backstrom once and he was really shy but very polite and nice...He has incredible stick handling skill and passing ability. A true hockey player coming out of Sweden!

Dude Joe Thornton is my favorite hockey player but honestly Backstrom is not a thornton cuz he doesn't choke in the playoffs when his team needs him most.

You can't really blame Backstrom for choking in the playoffs. Even in the first round, the stats of Ovie and Backstrom closely mirrored their regular season stats (both being notable PPG players much like Thornton). Backstrom is also still in his learning phase and will surely become better in the presence of great talent.
