  • Cosi si Canta! Bravo!!!!!!!

  • Assolutamente... grazie molto!

  • You certainly have been posting a lot of singers new to me lately. This one impresses me the most.

  • Thank you for posting this. I do not have this recording but I have a number of other recordings with Urbano. I do not know much about him. My all time favourite recording is "Bel sogno beato" from Puritani which he just creams. His recording of the aria from Chenier is also excellent. The fast vibrato and the virility and brightness of his voice make it appealing for me. Bravo Umberto! and grazie Douglasio

  • THANK YOU.... and apologies this very belated reply!

    Cheers, etc.

  • DOUG ~

Thanks to your research & historically rich recordings, THIS is the most interesting "new" voice I have yet heard among your exemplary videos.

If have more of Urbano's records, another such You Tube posting would be appreciated & enjoyed ~ that man's technique was an ideal!

  • @andyrawn Andy, addiobelpassato also has some wonderful Urbano recordings of Donizetti arias, which are very appealing. His singing is wonderful and rare. Thanks again, Doug!

  • DOUG ~

You're talking my language here ~ a "thin" voice production, very viral and healthy for lengthening his vocal life.

This baritone also had had a naturally appealing texture and a nice artistic sense of phrasing.

    Extra Bravos~ ANDY

  • @andyrawn I don't know if I would describe his voice as thin.

  • @seektheforce: Not the SOUND of the finished vocal product no, it's glorious ~ rather, the "thin" concept is a very vital focus in the PRODUCTION of the voice! ANDY

  • @andyrawn who on the stage today has a "finished vocal product" then?

  • @seektheforce:

This baritone Urbano has one of the most perfectly balanced and finished vocal productions we can imagine ~ thanks for the Intro!

And, per your question, in today's classical singing world ~ perhaps our own Renee Fleming and Mexico's Ramon Vargas.

    ~ ANDY

  • @andyrawn *dies* lol I haven't found anyone that I feel worthy of that yet....perhaps myself one distant day :).

  • He had a beautiful voice. Thank you for introducing this singer to me.

  • Warm, gorgeous, nuanced expression

    and a somewhat bright resonance!

Thank you for the introduction and

    souvenir!

  • Il mio tesoro bello Douglasio,

Vi ringrazio per questa canzone meravigliosa. Amavo la sua bella voce e il accomanyment è stata semplicemente perfetta. Molte grazie.

    Un centinaio di Stelle!

  • A classic Italian baritone. Clear diction and tone with great charm and that smile in the voice.

  • Urbano has a rich, vibrant tone and an excellent technique. Admirable singing. Thanks, Doug, for sharing.

  • He certainly has a good voice of medium weight, and sings like an artist. I had never heard any of his electrical recordings. Very nice disk. Thanks.

  • how wonderful.

  • I have not heard him sing for so long.

    Thanks -John

  • Wonderfully sung!
