We share the same opinion on this movie iamready2go. I totally love this movie. Its the best pop corn movie ever, with a clever scenario. Wish I was old enough to catch it 3D in cinemas in 1983. And the music accompanying this last scene totally rocks. Reminds me of Prokoviev and Stravinsky.

FitzRoyce was sucked the blood out of him when he slipped into the sharks mouth earlier in the film. During this, he pulled a grenade out but died before he used it.

Here, Mike sees his dead body with the grenade he is holding out. Mike pulls the grenade pin, killing the shark as he and his girlfriend hide.

@WeirdAlXemnas one of the divers earlier on in the movie tried to set one of his yellow grenades off while underwater near the shark, but the shark got him, and the top half of that diver's body was still in the back of the shark's mouth still holding the grenade. All they had to do was take that firing pin off of it which they did but they had to be close enough to the shark to do it lol

@WeirdAlXemnas They blow him up because a diver that he previously ate was carrying a grenade to kill Jaws, but the diver fails and gets eaten, so they use a hook to pull the pin on the grenade, it explodes and tears apart the sharks body
