@capnbarfy and also the character art was horrid especially the girls at least SNK made up for it in neowave where the girls looked cute n the guys were ok n some were ugly but 2001 was ok in my book

I know a lot of people rag on this game, but I rather enjoyed the presentation of 2001 myself.

KOF 98 is still the best, though.

Definately the best of the "yearly" KOF games, along with 1998. Although, its no KOF 11.
