Yes, the programming language Objective-C developed by NeXT, a synthesis of C, a procedural language, and SmallTalk a completely object oriented programming language, went on to be the foundation of Mac OSX and all Mac and iOS apps made in Xcode.
after watching the whole presentation and demo, we can really say his ideas were way ahead of its time. unbelievable. the audience couldn't even get it
As a long-time Mac user (since 1986), I was largely unaware of the NeXT system and had never seen this presentation.
Steve was a true futurist, and more often right than not. His vision that we would exchange videos as easily now as they did emails then demonstrates this fact. He also was focused on how people interact with computers The concert at the end was to open people's eyes. I think most people then saw this as a gimmick, but now we know better
does anybody know the song at 3:18 ?? it plays on many movies too,,

Thank you so much for uploading, and don't forget: the world wide web was invented on that workstation!

Way ahead of its time, most people in the audience were too stupid to realize it. Heck, Bill Gates couldn't realize how amazing the NeXT Cube was.

And this all happened in the early 90's? I am reading Walter Isaacson's biography of Steve Jobs, reason why I found these videos.
For all the bad-mouthing Steve received, he was simply a man of another time, a time ahead of most of us.
The junction of art and technology. Like most readers agree here, the audience did not get it.

Wish I had access to this technology back then instead of the other OS I learned first...
