In Huey Smith's band the vocals were first done by Geri Hall, but later on replaced by Frankie Ford's (Dr. John's nephew) who also played guitar on this record from Huey.

Love Johnny Rivers, and still play many of his dance songs. The only person that can do this song on my turntables is the original - 1958-59 Frankie Ford Ace Records ! I grew up in New Orleans and F.F. has the definitive version. Johnny was all over Huey Smith & the Cllowns with Rockin' Pneumonia..." though. Thanks for posting this 1971 track - enjoy J.R. DAVEDJ

Rivers does this song like John Fogerty would do it. Funny thing is John Fogerty's version of Sea Cruise sounds like Johnny Rivers. Both versions sound like they have Johan Blohm of The Refreshments on the piano, maybe a little more pronounced in Fogerty's version!
