I wish i lived in a generation where he would play my childhood vampires, but instead i have Robert fucking pat in that sorry excuse for a vampire film Twilight.
I watched this live with my dad and brother. My dad has always been huge fan of his and it rubbed off on me as dad showed me many Christopher Lee films growing up. My heart actually broke when he came on stage. He looked so frail and he couldn't even carry his award. I had tears running down my face in when he accepted his award. My brother who wasn't even a fan said it was so sad to see an actor of his talent reduced to such a frail frame. Definely one of the best actors of the 20th century!!!
sadly he looks rather frail now,but i suppose at the age of 88 most of us would be.i had the great pleasure to meet him some years ago,it was a dream come true for me as i have admired him for so many years.
I just have to say I always laugh at Stephen Fry's wave at 8:38! I don't think he meant for that to go on camera!
Seriously though, a VERY well deserved award for an amazing actor - I don't think anyone can ever match his huge achievements over the past 60-odd years. An excellent actor, and above all that a humble and charming man. Well done indeed!
I love how humble he was, when they gave him an ovation at the end and he says 'please..' as if to stop... Truly a man that acted because he loved the art, not looking for recognition, but accepting it all the same
actually cried watchin this, such a wonderful actor, well deserved
but hes lookin pretty old now (i no that he is), but due to his age (88), we should get to see him on screen for at least another 10 years, and fingers crossed, if he does end up seriesouly ill at some point soon, hopefully hell live long enough to see the hobbit being released :)
Amazing! He has such a wonderful voice. He is so talented in so many ways. So well deserved, but still so humble and such a lovely person. No arrogance at all.
So well deserved, and I think reflecting the public's sentiments for Sir Christopher: we have been entertained for generations by an insightful actor and an exciting star. Bravo!

His body may be frail, but his mind is sharp and his voice can make mountains tremble.

No matter how frail or weak he looks now, his voice is as powerful and iconic as it ever was.

modest, humble and passionate about his craft, a truly great man who should be a great inspiration and role model to any self respecting actor.

I love how Burton's voice was wibbling throughout the whole introduction and every face they cut to was misty-eyed. Great man.
