All special forces are elite except for u.s navy seals whom are just a bunch of primadonas & divas of the world's special forces! So what if they were the ones who killed osama bin laden! With the right infomation given, any special forces units can do de job, its just that they sent in the seals because they were available, maybe resting or doing nothing at that moment of time...LOL

Lets get this right guys. I have a brother in law in the SEALS. He is a machine.. but he told me that there are some guys with delta force...that make him look like a wimp when it comes to physical endurance and balls. Those guys go in thinkin not only can they possibly die.. but are probably going to have a good chance at dieing!

@JoEnUtZ23 Ha delta force makes seals look like wimps. Tell your brother in law this. There are 12,000 seals to exist since 1961 and there is only 1200 active now. Delta Force has doubled the number since 1960. Delta works with infantry and the can parachute but they work in urban areas. Seals work everywhere land air and sea. My brother is in MARSOC and he works with both units and he got into delta but wants seal training. Seals are by far the best. Delta cant compare they are like heavy CIA.

Thanks great to hear. This country needs kids like you. I am a similar story- Wanted to be a SEAL since I was about 5 or 6 years old. I leave in March for boot camp. I cant wait to get to BUD/S. Good luck to you! My advice to start to prepare yourself: join a swim team and play soccer/football/cross country.

SBS? sorry mate im gonna have to say that when it comes to special forces yours are simply brilliant but just not quite like ours. just admitt it. i can admitt your army is more powerful but in terms of special forces the SAS and SBS (special boat service) are in a class of their own.

Ahh now u see this guy jumped out stupidly of a helicopter who was as u say the best trained ever and the 2 sas got captured due to shitty intel[probs us] :L And both of these were secret missions.

Marines are more heavy infantry while SEALs are stealthy covert small operations, usually at night underwater

@facefilms87 Marines are from the Navy but they were put on the English boats to protice them from enamys and the Navy SEALS were made years later. They were mostly brave salors who went to destory the gun turets put up by the Germans so the Marines and the Army could go on sore and fight with out loseing more men. So the SEALS were born.

Credit could also be given to the Marine Raiders ( Carlson and Edson's Raiders ). The invasion of Tarawa with the 2nd Marine Division November 20th, 1943 was an amphibious nightmare for the Marine Corps and the Navy called for the creation of UDT. Check out Draper Kauffman or read First SEAL by Roy Boehm. Another great book is called Utmost Savagery.
