To me, Joy Division is like. The original root that spawned the goth-punk of the 90ies such as Alien Sex fiend. Of course Joy Division is much better. Just like how Nirvana was probably the root of the growing emo scene - but Nirvana is much better than any darn emo-band.
It's funny. I suppose that everytime you do something new, you have the basis for a new cliché - and then the original idea falls into obscurity.
@substance74 God, what does that mean for me & my Baroque fetish? Dreadful music once it's five years old, huh? Maybe a couple of bongs might change their minds...ah, just ignore me.
I have the Sunstance Vinyl released in 1988...and this song isnt there... Well but I have it on the "heart and Soul" vinyl... GREAT SONG...one of the happy ones by JD
God I love the bass on this song.....

I love the street sign you've used for this wonderful song. Wonder if the people who planned the street names were Joy Division fans-probably not.

You can't really categorize Joy Division's music. New Wave? Too simplistic a description. Post-punk? Too lazy. Goth? Fuck no. It's Joy Division.

Apparently there were 7 additional tracks that were only available on CD and tape. I've added the Wikipedia link to the sidebar.
