It's the greed of the company. Earthbound didn't sell well after they put "good" advertising into it (I'm puting quotes in "good" because they put a lot of money into it for the time, but the ads just plain sucked and if you don't believe, look up their slogan) and then they hated it. With the SSB series having Ness with every game and now adding Lucas, more and more SSB fans tried Earthbound out and almost all of them loved it. Nintendo's ignorance can't seem to see through that.

Yeah. And another reason why they hate it is (get ready for this...) because the fans ALWAYS email AND call their number. I'm not really liking Nintendo much anymore...
