  • is this AA one or two?

  • ArmA one

  • how is this game online?? explain it to me!!

  • Very good

The actual game ArmA is a war simulator, online it's usually team work and realism

In this mission it's you playing a civilian doing what you please with other players.

  • hey postal (i'm sasrecon)

whats ur system? i have a q6600 @2.4ghz (for ARMA2) but ARMA1 isn't quad core optimized so it doesn't play as well as it should and also whats ur internet like? i think thats my problem not my specs..

i lost 3mill on a drug run today cos i lost connection :-(

  • Shitty, loosing connection is just ArmA's gay ass system using Battle Eye, or the server.

Sadly they don't use 1.15Beta patch, as ive yet to loose connection in 1.15 because they fixed that issue.

Your Q6600 is much better than my E2180 @2.7ghz

ArmA is NOT mutlithreading, (multi core optimised), so it will only use 1 core.

Overclock your Q6600 to 2.8 if your on stock cooling, and depending on what aftermarket it is, ive gotten a freinds to 3.5ghz.

  • I think they're releasing a 1.15 SL cos i saw it being tested when i was disconnected yesterday (as a beta)

but i don't have it yet, i think i'll either wait for ARMA2 or till the next official patch if there is one.

I'm thinking of overclocking but i'll read more on how to do it before i do.

  • As long as its not a OEM, ex. Dell, Emachine, Gateway, HP, Toshiba, etc.

You can overclock, as in home built.

If its a OEM you have locked bios and cannot overclock.

It's relatively easy, and only requires a small understanding and small bits of math. Its also safe, so long as you dont pump a shit load of Volts through the item.

  • this is so fukn funny loool

  • Jihad on tractor

  • whats ur GFX card???

  • Powercolor ATI Radeon 4850

  • what settings is the game running on and what res?

  • Terrain - Very High Objects - Very High Textures - Very High Shading - Very High Post Process - Very High Anisotropic Filtering - Very High Shadow - Very High Antialiasing - High Blood - High Res- 1440x900 in 16:10 Aspect View Distance - 2000m as Infantry and Armor 5000m - Air This card has been tested on a slower Rig with only a P4 at 2.4ghz and with shadows on Very High - Antialiasing High - Anisotropic Very High - and the view distance over 1400m it would frame stutter.
  • Also the Frame Stutter you see in this video is due to the Server.

When people pull MH6 or Tanks out of storage or buy big vehicles the server stops and drops to 0FPS for a few brief moments, then continues.

  • those are amazing settings you are playing with. does the game lag like in forests or woods or when there is too much shooting (too much rendering???)

  • Nope, with Fraps FPS counter i get 34FPS - lowest to about 60FPS - highest.

The game is like OFP where they are both poorly optimized.

But it runs fine for me, only with the view distance higher than that and using Scripting to turn the Terrain from normal - high to Very High does it lag when view distance is at 5000+ on infantry.

Cause the game has a limiter when you raise the distance to drop the quality down.

  • For ACE Mod on Tactical Gamer Server, on Avgani map in the city with LOTS of AI. I do get FPS drop to about 18 lowest.

It's still very playable as it feels more like 25fps, but it can sometimes stutter at the wrong moment. Dropping the Shadows or AA or AF does nothing, so it's my processor.

  • i know. the game is poorly designed for dual processors. also if it was made well, then an 8800GT would be enough to max this game!!!!!!!

  • It doesnt support Dual or more processors at all, will only use 1 core.

My friend has a 8800gts, the 1st line of the 8800gts, and it ran the game fine with no AA or AF, and shadows on High instead of Very High.

I don't know what the new ones will do, but it should be fine for the most part.

ArmA 2 Is released in a few months, and it "should" be much more optimised and for Otimal System Requirements they state a 8800gt.

For ArmA Optimal is 6800gt, which is bullshit hah

  • i know its just bullshit!

i had a 6200 and i played the game on lowest settings and it sucks on low!

but i think if the game is maxed then it should have 30+ fps even in battlefields!

  • Yes, I agree.

    Heavy Battle I get around 30-40FPS +

But thats because my processor and ArmA not using multiple cores, but it stays relatively above 30FPS around 93% of the time

  • could you plz go to the mission editor and put about 50-60 soldiers next to each other and then spawn there and tell me what frame rates you got?

  • Sure thing, surely my FPS will drop horribly due to my poor processor, but i will on Rahmadi.

    No AI Rahmadi

    AI Rahmadi

In that format, i will post back soon

  • are you saying I could max out crysis but not this?

  • Depends on your setup ...

More than likely you can max this before crysis, but i have seen a gtx 285 run this game with no AA and paired with Q6600 @3.4ghz, ran Crysis x4AA at DX10 very high

And in some situations it would bog down to 20FPS

This game is VERY poorly coded and it can bring the best of processors to thier knees with the 1 core utilization.

  • actually i only have an 8600m gs and 2.5 ghz core 2 duo. I love cudaats!

  • Yes CUDAATS is awesome

I have it on High without and Very high with .. Level 4 out of 6 i think
