love it. nice job. the wild pig I've eaten has always been pretty lean. great hams, pork chops, straps etc but no bacon or ribs to speak of because they're so lean. in my experience, once they get over about 130lbs they start to taste pretty crappy so all the large pigs I kill are turned into sausage. if I want good hams, I shoot a 70-90 pounder.

I'm no expert on hunting, but I think the legality of baiting depends on the state you are in, and what animal you are hunting. Since boars/hogs/feral pigs are a non native invasive species most states don't regulate the hunting of them and you can pretty much hunt them whenever you like. I don't know about deer, but I have heard of people hunting deer with bait as well.
