In order to unlock the X-2 you must get an S rank on every mission with at least Normal difficulty, and complete the game twice (so says ACwiki). The alternate paintjobs for it entail taking down the Aces, as shown here.

Actually in order to unlock the X-02 you must beat the game on expert mode, not get an S rank on every mission or kill all the aces (i'm pretty sure i could be wrong try both.

I got my X-02 yesterday! It's the sh!t! Today, I got the black one by getting all the S's in the free mission thing. I'm working on getting all my S's on the Ace level! It's hard 'cause u can't get hit with 1 missile or you'll die! What's up with getting the F-4 after getting S ranking in all of the difficulties? The F-4 is just a Phantom, did anyone get the extra F-4?

The X-02 is like the prototype of the F/A-37 Talon(I THINK THATS THE NAME)...that'll replace the fighter jets used by the U.S Navy in a few years time(i hope, cuz i wanna fly it!)it was also used in the movie Stealth....i also loved that ROBOTIC PLANE(i dont kno the name)HE/IT was awsome!!!

you go load a profile that has already been completed, and go to free flight that is what I do and I have like beaten the game 10 times on the "hardest" difficulty isn't really that hard.

I am flying the X-02. but the only way to unlock it is to shoot down all of the aces.

It doesn't matter how many times you beat the campaign or on what dificulty or how perfect you do it... you still have to shoot down all of the aces on all but 1or 2 tracks.

Actually to get the x-02 on Ace Comabat 4 you have to get an "S" rank on all missions. If you do it on normal you get the silver x-02. If you do it on hard you get the black x-02....and it costs about 1,445,000
