  • you can do it man. i am 2 weeks in and i totally changed my diet. already lost 14 pounds. about 80-85 more to go. I work out doing cardio 4-5 days a week. 2-3 miles a day. Something that helps is a bowl of oatmeal with 1 sweet n low in the morning with a cup of green tea. then unlimited salads with balsamic vinegret and a little tuna or turkey on whole wheat for lunch and a light dinner. A big key is to have small snacks throughout the day to keep your metabolism up like an apple.

  • To kick-start or maintain any diet and to speed up weight loss, AVOID:

    - all pre-prepared foods

    - anything, and I mean ANYTHING with artificial flavours, colours and/or preservatives (read ALL ingredients on packaging and avoid if present).

    There are more things to avoid of course but y'all know those already.

    It's no good eating less and still eat the wrong things. The above things that I list t avoid HINDER your digestion and therefore your weight loss. It's so simple. And it's a start.

    you dont have to run on it just walk, stick it in front of your tv and just take a walking pase, when you get tired stop, then when you get your energy back after about 5-10 minutes go back on,

    do that over a month for 1-2 hours a day and you will see the results, walking for an hour a day on a running machine or around the area you live is a far better way to naturally loose weight than intensive programmes which people often find hard sticking to.

Even if u take it a week at a time and say I'll dedicate 1 hour a day this week to exercise in some form, and rest one day. I hope u realize bro this isn't a diet, its a life change and you'll have to make a conscious effort to eat health and exercise for the rest of your life if u expect to make this work.

  • Boogie, I know swimming is your preferred cardio exercise, but you should be changing it up anyway with cross training (alternate with walking on a treadmill for example). Safety issues--whenyou're driving without A/C, you're not exercising so it should not be a safety problem after you swim either. If you're feeling too tired or faint from the heat after swimming then you need to cool down for longer or you're over doing it. Start walking even if 1 minute and slowly increase.

  • Boogie, I have been really trying harder and succeeding more to eat healthier and get my cardio workouts done since you started the boogiedown, so we're in this together. Of course it's harder when you're girlfriend is away--it's always easier when someone is there to give lots of support and to do it with you.  You also need to be in there and planning and preparing your meals (you will benefit from sharing that responsibility with her) when she comes back.

  • Fast food is poison in large quantities. Since the beggining of this year, my family and i have eaten at fast food 5 times. any more than that and my stomach and guts pay for it. try looking at food differently. Most of the stuff you buy is processed with chems and garbage. As soon as you realize that, the food part will be much easier to deal with. About exercise, no expects you to do a marathon. these things take time...start off with a nice walk in the morning AND in the evening.

And when you get groceries you set it in the seperate compartments, and at that specified time it will open for you to eat your food. it could help on resisting the urge to eat.   • Chicken sandwich? I hope you realize that fast food joints don't care about healthy food and that their so called "healthy" options are just there to sell more food? Just to give you an example: McDonald's 100% salad had more calories than a Big Mac and it was all becasue of the dreessing.

    That's how bad "healthy" fast food is for you. Just make your own chicken sandwich at home and bring it with you in the car to stop cravings. Fast food is NEVER good for you no matter how "healthy" it seems.

  • You Boogie are the type of fat person I can sympathize with and really like. You understand why you're fat and you make no excuses. That's the first step in defeating any addiction. There are a lot of fat people out there in total denial who make excuses for themselves. Congrats for recognizing the problem and having the balls to do something about it.

  • focus on the excersize and eating healthy over your weight amount, it will be easier for you and you wont hyperfocus and get sad if you dont lose weight each time you go to the scale. i would say that most of this is going to be mental for you to accomplish to keep you succeeding. it will get easier the more you speed up your metabolism and gain endurance...strength etc. :D

  • Boogie, the chicken is fine if you take the bun off. It's the bun that will spike your sugar level up and make your cravings go through the roof. I know Wendy's has gluten free french fries. McDonald's fries has gluten in them. I'll go by Wendy's and either order the Dbl cheeseburger with a large fri. I'll take the bun off and eat the chicken or burger with a fork. Afterwards I don't have cravings and go out and eat everything in site. I know the rollercoaster you are on.

Like stupid cravings enter my head all the time, and I have to ignore them or quickly find something to do in order to get my mind off of the. One trick I learned is to keep busy, because it only seems to happen when I'm sitting doing nothing. Idle hands...you know? thumbs up to you! :)

  • francis...Ramadan month is after 2 days...in this month Muslims fast from 5 am until 7pm without eating or drinking...why dont you do the same even if you're not Muslim but try to do the same...you can drink. also eat dates in the morning...7 dates. it really healthy. :)

  • @skysands2008 Just because you lose weight of it, it doesn't necessarily mean it's healthy. It's not healthy not to eat for longer periods of time. It is though smart to think about what you're eating, and not just eat anything. Food with large amounts of sugar and fat, will in the long end make you fat. That's why we do sports to keep it down. Now the consequences of not eating: You'll probably get tired, and in some cases you'll even get sick.

    im thin not fat...but i see many people lose weight in this month...its just 1 month in the year...doctors said its healthy and fasting 1 month in year make the body healthy and it remove the poisons from the body.

    to be honest its not that hard...im fasting in Ramadan for like 5 years now. my weight is 61Kg.

  • @skysands2008 that is extremely bad on your body when you're overweight...it's bad when you're at a good weight also but when you do that your body just goes into starvation mode and stores as much fat/calories as it can which doesn't help you at all. so...no lol I'm sure he's smarter than that

  • @skysands2008 Boogie has diabetes and I don't think he can fast without his blood sugar going dangerously low. Otherwise for the person without any compromising metabolic health problems fasting the way Muslims do during Ramadan and other times is very cleansing and healthy in many ways.
